About this product
Renowned touch guitarist Markus Reuter is one of the stalwarts of the DiN tag. His initial collaboration with tag founder Ian Boddy was the releases Distant Rituals (DiN2). Since then he has been involved with several other DiN projects, including Zero Ohms & Bernhard WInchstheinrich. Looking to do another collaboration with Boddy, Markus composed several long soundscape improvisations over the summer of 2020. The duo realised that with the pandemic they would not be able to physically work together in the studio at the same time. Boddy took these ambient starting points and using his vintage Roland System 100M modular synthesiser began to arrange, cut up and shape these into a coherent album. The work is conceived as two long 20 minute suites.

Revolve is the fourth collaborative project between Ian Boddy and the Norwegian guitarist Erik Wollo. Revolve is a continuous sonic journey, with the tracks joined together by slices of sonic ambience and field recordings. The combination of Boddy's Moog and modular sequencing with Wollo's ostinato guitar patterns creates sections that ebb and flow structurally with a beguiling sense of space and freedom. Beautifully ethereal textures give way to pulsing rhythmic sequencers underpinned by solid bass lines and shimmering percussion lines. Revolve is a stunning musical travelogue that cries out to be listened to as a whole album and shows the mastery both these composers have in their craft.

On InchCoilInch (DiN74), DiN tag boss Ian Boddy follows up his 2020 studio InchAxiomInch (DiN64) with another vinyl album length slice of vintage electronic music synth heritage. Whilst there are many focusing in on the world of possibilities of modular synths to the detriment of form and composition Boddy uses his 40 plus years of experience to create six succinct slices of analogue warmth and emotion. Limited to 600 copies on Digipak CD.
