7-string electric guitar designed for extended-range clarity, aggressive styling, and ergonomic comfort for modern performance.

The GIO series was developed for players who want Ibanez quality, but working within a limited budget. Subject to many of the same rigorous inspection standards and coverage as other Ibanez guitars, GIO guitars offer the best sound, style, and playability of anything in their class. This principled approach has not only put better guitars in the hands of new players—it’s been responsible for launching numerous new musical careers around the world. The GRG131DX begins with the iconic Ibanez RG series body, constructed of poplar. It’s then fitted with a Maple GRG neck sporting a Treated New Zealand Pine fretboard, Medium frets, and Shark tooth inlays in red. Electronics include two Infinity R pickups with a 3-way selector switch for a variety of tonal options, right at your fingertips.

Signature electric guitar designed for technical performance, offering fast neck access, expressive tone, and iconic styling for advanced players.

The GIO Series GRG121DX from Ibanez is a solidbody electric guitar constructed with a double-cutaway mahogany body featuring an attractive walnut flat finish, a slim bolt-on maple neck with a bound 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, and sharktooth inlay. The fixed bridge brings out the natural resonance and sustain of the wood. For electronics, the guitar is fitted with a pair of IBZ-6 humbucking neck and bridge pickups, along with a 5-way selector switch, single volume and tone controls. The pickups and controls offer a wide range of tones that accentuate the wood's rich harmonics, and are responsive to the player's fretting and picking dynamics.
