A: I use iPhone 11 Pro Max in a case. Fits with room to spare.
Q: Does it charge through a hard case of the phone?
A: I have to take mine out of my wallet case in order for it to charge.
Q: Does the open automatically?
A: It is what I would call semi automatic. There is a button on the lower right side and when pressed it will release your phone by opening the arms that hold the phone in place sort of hydraulically. However you have to squeeze the arms together once you put your phone in it, for it to hold it in place.
Q: Will this work on a galaxy 10
A: I was using it to charge a Galaxy S-9, a Galaxy S-10, and an Apple iPhone 8. It will charge for a while, but you'll notice the charging light starts blinking and charging stops.
Q: Will this charge a Samsung Galaxy S8?
A: Of course, if it works for Samsung Galaxy S8 also for Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and it works very well in both.
Q: Will this fit a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra?
A: It fits my Note 10 plus very well
