Does the open automatically? null

It is what I would call semi automatic. There is a button on the lower right side and when pressed it will release your phone by opening the arms that hold the phone in place sort of hydraulically. However you have to squeeze the arms together once you put your phone in it, for it to hold it in place.

Well there is a button you push that will open the phone cradle all the way. Pretty easy, however the button will be covered by the phone. But once you know where it is it’s easy and can be done with one hand

No. This has a button at the bottom right that you touch with your finger when gripping the phone. While researching these mounts, I found this is actually much quicker and safer than the auto open and close models.
