A: I agree this thing is only about 2 1/2 inches tall when it’s mounted but I haven’t mounted it yet because unfortunately my vehicle has rounded spots everywhere and I was a little bit misled when I purchased it it said streaming and charging and something else so I bought it because it was on sale and I think basically I paid for the cord LOL but to answer the question once more no not 7 inches only about as long as a small lighter
