The JBL Control HST speaker uses Hemispherical Soundfield Technology™ to provide wide, consistent audio coverage and minimize wall reflection issues that distort sound. It's design includes a wall-facing woofer and splayed tweeters, enabling full-range sound from a single speaker across large areas, reducing the number needed and cutting system costs.
- HST Hemispherical Soundfield Technology™: Provides extremely wide horizontal coverage that approaches 180°, covering a greater area with fewer speakers. Reduces the primary wall reflection, resulting in a flat frequency response and consistent sound character at all listening positions.
- Components: : 5-1/4" CMMD woofer and two splayed ¾" fluid-cooled tweeters

Component features include a Kevlar-reinforced low frequency cone for reliability, well-damped surround for smooth frequency response, high temperature voice coil and a reduced distortion design through saturated-gap magnet geometry. The paintable enclosure is constructed of thick, ABS plus fiberglass and is heavily braced to maximize low-frequency performance. The corrosion-resistant zinc-rich extra-thick powder coated steel grille is backed with open cell foam and high thread-count mesh, providing excellent protection in the harshest environments. The system is rated IP-56, per IEC529 when installed at minimum 5° down-tilt. The system is equipped with a 120W 70V/100V multi-tap transformer. Connection is made via outdoor-rated terminals in a recessed terminal cup.
