
Brand new 1/72 scale diecast model of F-15E U.S. Air Force Strike Eagle Fighter Aircraft "4th Fighter Wing, 2017 75th Anniversary" by JC Wings, limited edition to 700 pieces worldwide. This model comes in a brand new box and includes a display stand, detailed exterior, true-to-scale detail, missile accessories, and is an officially licensed product with no openings. Made of diecast metal with some plastic parts, it has dimensions of approximately Length- 10.5, Wingspan- 7.25 inches and comes in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging. The 4th Fighter Wing, assigned to the Air Combat Command's Ninth Air Force and stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, traces its origins to the Royal Air Force Eagle Squadrons (Nos. 71, 121, and 133) before becoming the 4th Fighter Group on 12 September 1942. The 4th Fighter Group was the first to use belly tanks, penetrate Germany, accompany bombers to Berlin, complete the England-to-Russia shuttle, and down jet fighters, credited with destroying 1,016 enemy aircraft and producing 38 aces. In 1988, the wing began transitioning to the F-15E Strike Eagle, with the first F-15E arriving on 29 December 1988 and the 336th Tactical Fighter Squadron becoming the first operational F-15E squadron on 1 October 1989. The transition from the F-4E to the F-15E was completed on 1 July 1991, making the 4th TFW the first operational F-15E wing in the Air Force, and in 1995, the 334th FS became an F-15E training squadron, giving the wing two F-15E training squadrons.
