A: Yes, I had this done by the installers in my island. They cut the hole in the island further back on the sides by three inches to each side. Caveat: your cooktop space must be big enough to be made significantly bigger. And your under countertop space needs to be big enough also.

Great Cooktop
I installed this cooktop in less than a day after having removed an older Whirlpool cooktop with downdraft. The Jenn-Air product performs very well, cleans easily, and looks great. Additionally, the downdraft system design does not pull the flames on neighboring burners, keeping the heating uniform.

Worth the wait
We are very happy with our Jenn-Air Cooktop. It is head and shoulders above the other brands. There is plenty of room for all your cooking needs and still have the pots spaced apart. This unit make me feel like cooking.
