I bought this for my daughter, and it took some time for her to get used to its interface. The controls seem a bit clunky and there's not great instructions for each level. Once you actually figure out what you're supposed to do, it's got some great tools to teach basic coding. You do have to re-center the wand from time to time due to drift; not sure if that's just a flaw with this specific product or a general bluetooth thing.

The games are fun and intuitive with the wand. I will say not all of the challenges are clear what they want you to do, or why it hasn't said you successfully completed. Can do drag and drop, or code by hand in javascript. Slowly been showing my girl (11 years old) the js code so she gets used to the idea that its there and we can learn/write by hand there. Most of the time, I let her do the coding and just sit near by for questions. I like that she can do it on her own most of the time. After a challenge, we'll discuss other ways to have solved the same thing, or other modifications we might have made.

I think Kano has outdone itself with this crossover. After trying tip-glowing and TV-remoting wands, this is by far the biggest effort that muggles have made towards unveiling the secret of magic. I am waiting for the Raspberry Pi version to come so I can hack it to do more. I am so excited that my scar hurts.

My daughter loves this device. It sparked her interest further in technology. The app is quite instructional that my kid barely asked for assistance from assembly to basic coding. There are a lot of activities that increase in difficulty as you progress. I’d recommend using rechargeable batteries as this toy can be addictive for hours to play.

Great wand and awesome coding for beginners. Son loves it

My child wanted this so bad last Christmas but at a $100 it was just to much for what was already an exspisive Holliday. So now with her still asking about it the time was right and at a great price. I cant wait until she and I get to play with this.

This is a great coding kit but the recommended minimum age should be older. The in app directions could be better to help a curious, younger coder-in-the-making.

my 12 yr old daughter loved programming the wand and playing with it. Even now, months later, she still plays with it (unlike most toys that fall by the wayside after a couple weeks). Definitely recommend!

Our7-year-old son is super into Harry Potter. He received the Kano coding kit for Christmas and he loves playing with it and casting spells! He needs our help with some of it but I think he will be on his own soon.

It has a ton to do but make sure you keep the batteries tab available or your going to be out Of batteries quick. Plus the options of use were not as good as I thought they would be!

I bought this for my nephew since he loves Harry Potter and is currently learning to code in school. It’s fun, easy to use and provides incentives for learning. Highly recommend!

Fun game but a bit overpriced at MSRP. If you have a Potterfan in your family then they will love this.

Easy to set up and operate for kids or adults. So much fun to play too! Not recommended for kids under 10 as the wand is extremely breakable if not handled carefully.
