Major Parkinson - Valesa - VINYL LP

Major Parkinson announces their long-awaited return with the new album Valesa - Chapter I Velvet Prison, releasing on CD, vinyl, cassette and all streaming platforms on October 7, 2022. The ever-evolving seven-piece has emerged from the primordial darkness of 2017's Blackbox, into a neon haze of progressive synthpop/rock. Having chased the ever-elusive Ghost of Pop music from the early days of their eponymous debut album to the present, the band has always thrived within a melodic core - often clad under a shroud of progressive experimentation. On Valesa - Chapter I, the shackles are off, the curtain pulled back, as their compositions extrapolate with new focus and invention. Not necessarily less intricate, but definitely more pop. The album features 17 meticulously crafted songs that explore new sonic territories, set to the political backdrop of the 1980s as they tap into the Zeitgeist of a period in human history that proved tantamount in shaping our world. From the halls of an abandoned American high school to the wine-stained head of Gorbachev - the album evokes an all-encompassing feeling of uneasy nostalgia, like humanity collectively looking back in time with a pair of cracked, rose-tinted glasses. InchSynth anthems set in a disco of nuclear anxiety. Inch, says vocalist Jon Ivar Kollbotn. InchIn this day and age, life is passing before our eyes before we can grasp anything at all, and we become spectators in our own lives. Like confused, geriatric visitors in a wax museum. As time passes by, the past is becoming brighter and nostalgia is growing bigger. Inch01. Goodbye Blue Monday02. Behind the Next Door03. Saturday Night04. Ride in the Whirlwind05. Live Forever06. Team Dresch - Captain My Captain - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing includes . Combining the brazenness of Riot Grrrl with the angst dirge of grunge, Team Dresch didn't just raise the stakes of queercore They created two near-perfect albums about longing, freedom, and belonging over guitar riffs as epic and intense as Jody Bleyle and Kaia Wilson's poetic couplets. On their 1995 debut, Personal Best, they rage against the Christian right and small towns, then kiss their girlfriends on the mouth. Donna Dresch, Bleyle, and Wilson play ferocious, intricate riffs fast while Marcéo Martinez hits the drums hard. To paraphrase their own song, they are amazing; their words save us. Captain My Captain shows Team Dresch finding and creating community, elevating and becoming dykons. Drummer Melissa York joins the fold, adding a level of NYC showmanship to the quintessentially Northwestern, T-shirted live act. Already they commanded a level of assurance and confidence, staying true to the underground's autonomous spirit; Remember who you are, Make up who you are, they roar over the noise of busted closets. The fierce and biting lyrics are aided by raging, skilled punk rock sounds, creating one of the most intense and meaningful punk revival albums to date. Team Dresch is able to accomplish more in this 35 minutes than many bands can in their entire career. Punk rock will never be the same.

Legendary, independent, New York-based rock tag Equal Vision Records and acclaimed punk veterans HOT WATER MUSIC and QUICKSAND are excited to announce the of their brand-new, four-song, split EP. Featuring classics covered by each band from QUICKSAND's Slip and HOT WATER MUSIC's No Division, the new EP also features the unreleased tracks 'Supercollider,' QUICKSAND's first new song since 2021's Distant Populations, and 'Undertow,' a new HOT WATER MUSIC song lifted from it's Brian McTernan-produced Vows sessions. 'Like many who grew up listening to hardcore and punk rock from early ages on, we were inspired and driven by a lot of work from all the members that make up UICKSAND and of course by QUICKSAND themselves,' HOT WATER MUSIC vocalist/guitarist Chuck Ragan said. 'Fast forward to 1999 when we had the honor of working with Walter Schreifels as he produced our record No Division. That experience went from surreal and intimidating to completely comforting and empowering. Our respect and admiration grew tenfold until we got the chance to tour with them. We already admired and respected them, now we love them like family.' Ragan concludes, 'Getting to know Alan, Walter, and Sergio on the road and now doing a split together has been an incredible experience, and though we find ourselves in the most normal situations with these salt of the Earth souls, we're still pinching ourselves from time-to-time.' QUICKSAND's Walter Schreifels adds, 'It's an awesome, full circle moment for me to be a part of this split with HOT WATER MUSIC. It wasn't too long after QUICKSAND broke up that I got to meet and work with HOT WATER MUSIC as producer for their album No Division. It was an absolutely magical experience. We had so much fun, the album came out amazing, and at the very end of the last day of recording, I added a vocal to my fave song 'Free Radio Gainesville,' which we covered
