The Kensington MicroSaver Keyed Laptop Lock is a physical security cable designed for offices, classrooms, and travel, where notebooks, monitors, and other equipment must stay anchored to a desk or another fixed object. The lock pairs a patented T-bar locking mechanism with a 6 foot steel composite cable built around a carbon tempered steel core, and the 5.5 mm cable diameter resists cutting and prying while remaining light enough to coil into a laptop bag. The T-bar head engages the standard Kensington Security Slot found on the majority of notebooks, desktops, printers, projectors, docking stations, tablet computers, and flat panel monitors, so a single lock can move between devices across a shared workspace. A built-in defense system guards the cylinder against tampering, and the keyed design means no combination has to be memorized or passed verbally between shifts. Two keys ship in the box, and Kensington offers custom keying programs that allow master access, shared access, or supervisor only access for organizations managing large hardware fleets. A rubber cable tie is included to keep the 6 foot cable coiled and tidy when the lock is stowed or carried between sites. Installation needs no tools, adapters, or adhesive, since the cable loops around a table leg or other immovable anchor, the T-bar seats into the security slot, and a turn of the key secures it.
