Q: Do I need to use this with a kenwood regular dash cam? Would this work by itself
A: It would not work by itself.
Q: Is this product weather resistant?
A: These cameras are meant to be inside the vehicle not outside. With this being mentioned they are not weather resistant.
A: yes, if you have one of the forward facing Kenwood cameras DRV-A501WDP or DRV-A601WDP, that have a place for a second camera to plug into then this records the second camera in which ever position you choose to mount it. I have mine facing the rear for front and rear coverage. it shows up as a picture in picture on the dashcam but records a separate file, one for the front and one for the rear.
Q: Can this be attached to a motorcycle?
A: This KCA-R200 is an accessory that requires the DRV-A501 or the DRV-A601 dash camera. It cannot be used as an independent camera. You may want to look into the DRV-A301 or the other cameras i mentioned-jenniferr
