I first need to state that I am only running a 500 watt rms Alpine single sub with dual voice coils wired in parallel to 2ohms in a sealed box at this time for trunk space and better gas mileage. I know vented boxes are louder at lower wattage, but they don’t do well on really low bass that I want to feel even If it can’t be heard. The amplifier is rated up to a 150 amp fuse, but I am using a 60 amp fuse that has yet to blow. My headlights dim a lot and the amp cuts off on hard kicks due to low voltage. I did have a bad ground location, but drilled a new one and cleaned the paint and primer off so it plays a bit louder, but not as loud as I want sometimes before it cuts out. A capacitor would help, but in the end, a high output alternator will be needed for the output I crave. None of that is the fault of the amplifier however. With the current 60amp fuse, at most I can draw about 800 watts before it blows. That’s still well below rated rms so I can’t tell you how it performs at full power. I can say that the sound quality is decent and I haven’t had any issues beside my car’s electrical limitations. It always runs cool, but I’m barely putting a load on it. I have a Cobalt by the way. For those familiar with their electrical issues, yes I cleaned all the corrosion from all the wires on the alternator, starter, fuse box, and battery terminals. The ones on the starter needed tarnx with a wire brush to get to bare metal... A dremmel with wire brush attachment would have been faster, but I couldn’t find mine. If I run the power wire directly to the alternator instead of the battery post in the trunk and see a change, I’ll update this post. The fusible link on the alternator could be a bottleneck for current... I plan to get a bigger car so I might not invest anymore time or money on stereo stuff until then. I’d change my sub setup to match the amp better in a bigger car or suv.

A very good quality sounding amplifier that has a lot of power for the small size. I would recommend this over a lot of the Lesser cheaper amps. Sometimes you just get what you pay for. It makes my dual comp R box hit so hard that I cannot turn it up all the way. Not only does it go loud but it sounds very good. good quality sound. You will need at least four gauge 100% copper wire or better. Don't go cheap on The Wire. If you buy kicker brand wire they will extend your amp warranty by year.

this thing packs a big punch in a small size, wish the gain wasnt so touchy. be sure to verify that your ohms are right it feels like it wants to push more power than it needs to. my subs are dvc 2 ohm kicker and it wants to go into protect with only a quarter of the gain up...just cant remember if mine are wired to pull less than 2 ohm. oh well catch it on sale and its a really good purchase

I used to run a rockford Fosgate punch 800 from back in the day for my subs, but it blew and I needed a replacement. I looked at all the options from MTX, Kicker & the elite line, pioneer, alpine etc. I was hesitant at first, but for the price and power this was a perfect middle ground, so I took the leap of faith. I don't know much about the kicker line of speakers, but I can honestly say that I stand behind their amps 100%. I bought a 2012 (the yellow one) version a few years back for another vehicle, and it worked flawlessly powering 3 10" MTX Blue Thunder Legend Woofers (4ohm, 500rms/1000max each) in series. Never clips, and hit hard all powered by an amp with 50% more power, triple the efficiency and 1/3 the footprint and weight of my beloved Fosgate. So, when the time came to outfit my SUV, I went back to the same amp albeit a cosmetically updated version. Once again, I am one happy customer. You won't go wrong with this amp if you need serious output for you subs.

This amp is perfect for powering my two sub woofers. It just about matches the subs and will turn off before any damage is done to them from over powering. I didnt do the exact match up to get the most out of my sub woofers but it is the best i could buy.

This amp is powerful for its size and definitely worth the money!! It packs the boost for two 12” kicker speakers with no problem!!!!

I purchased this amp to power 2 new 12 inch kickers in a sealed box, both from Best, works very nice but too much power for these kicker speakers. Only set at 20% power on amp and they blow me out at stereo set 40% volume. Works nice so far, only had for a few months.

I originally had a Pioneer amp with a similar output rating and was very unhappy with the way it sounded. I went to Best Buy planning on getting a Kicker amp. I found this amp, and although it was a little more expensive than I wanted to pay, I am very happy with it. It sounds amazing paired with my dual Kicker 12" CompR's in a box. Nice lows and crisp mids. One thing I noticed is that the protection feature seems to activate at volume levels that the Pioneer seemed to handle with no problem. I'm using 4ga power and ground wires to provide as much power as possible. This amp also does not come with a remote bass control, you'll have to get that separately. I am definitely satisfied with what I got for what I paid.
