A: My fridge is the only appliance in my kitchen that isn't classic stainless. I think the PrintShield looks great. If anything, it is slightly less shiny... maybe more of a dull stainless look. All in all... they match in my book. I love how clean it always looks too!
A: This is a very important question that KitchenAid or all who carry this refrigerator need to definitively answer in 2019. "What year and serial number denotes the the start of the improved model that addressed the ice maker and compressor problems? Were these problems fixed before the platinum interior model?" I actually want to buy one of these, but just can't in light of the current reviews.
A: Our BestBuy sales rep, who seemed to be knowledgeable, stated that there was a production stop/start to address signficant defects. We were told this when we were hesitant to buy because of all the poor reviews. We were assured the unit we would be buying in May, 2019 would be the "updated" model. However, our model makes a loud buzzing sound when running which is way above the acceptable decibel level, and its frequency is disturbing to me, and the fact that I can hear it running 30+ feet away. AVOID THIS UNIT/BRAND. Do you really want to buy something that was so poorly designed or built that they had to stop the production run? Don't make our same mistake.
Q: the depth dimensions are confusing can you please clarify
A: Height to top of cabinet: 70.875 inch Height to top of hinge: 71.875 inch Depth of cabinet with out doors: 24.375 inch. (Some additional space required to allow for water hook up & air circulation behind cabinet.) Depth of cabinet with doors: 31.5 inch. Depth with door open: 43.75 inch
A: It's black stainless steel. I've seen it in person at the store and have talked to Kitchenaid personally about it. They have three versions of this model: Black Stainless Steel (KRFC704FBS), Stainless Steel (KRFC704FSS) and Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel (KRFC704FPS).
A: I would imagine you could, the arm that breaks up the ice seems to be pretty strong. I would be careful to ensure that there are no large chunks of ice as it could possibly overload it. You could always do it the old fashioned way and just keep the bag in the freezer until your well is back in service.
A: Yes the inside of the doors can hold gallon jugs. Then there is a center section (the top slides back) so you can put tall things in - the shelves are also adjustable left and right for taller things. The LED lighting is bright - no issues seeing things inside - the 604 series is standard interior and the 704 is the "platinum" interior with a grayish (attractive IMO) and wood grain finish on the shelves. The water dispenser works well - we don't use the auto fill feature or use the water feature much at all as its cold out of the tap at our house (on a well) We have the 704FPS - Platinum Interior, Counter Depth with Fingerprint Stainless - it has been available since late January 2017 - they built out the 704 series first as the 604 - standard interior was not going to be available until Mid-late February we decided not to wait. So far so good. Its a nice fridge.

We were down-sizing our fridge to fit the space better and match other appliances, so we went with this particular model that is a little more shallow than our last one but just a bit taller. It fits the space perfectly. The aesthetics, both inside and out, are fabulous - exactly what you would expect from KitchenAid. I love the size of the ice this produces, but I wish it produced just a little bit more. We have not had any mechanical/technical issues as of yet. This is a gorgeous refrigerator but with a high sticker price.

My new KitchenAid refrigerator is perfect!! I’ve had my eye on this model for some time, never saw anything I liked more, so I decided to take the plunge. So glad I did!! The color perfectly matches my countertops, and the counter depth size fits perfectly. There are so many drawers and shelves. One has a wood front for a touch of class! The retractable shelf, which allows more space for tall items, is brilliant! Small lights inside the refrigerator on each side, illuminate the contents and give the refrigerator an upscale look. The freezer section has several drawers, making it easy to store and find items. Everything about the design and functionality of this refrigerator is perfection!

Overall really pleased with the refrigerator. Love the craft ice feature. Nice option with middle drawer being fridge/freezer. I’ve never owned such a quite refrigerator, I can’t even tell when it is running. Why didn’t give 5 stars. Only issue I’m having is the adjustment of shelving. I Have a Britta Pitcher and it won’t fit under the selfing no matter how I readjust them. It does fit in Outside door but then uses Up the entire one and only large shelf, which defeats the purpose of opening outside door For items used every day to save energy. Does fit a gal. of milk by moving middle shelf up, right under top shelf, then can place milk on bottom shelf. However, then you only have Enough space which basically fits an item height of a carton of eggs.
