  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: false (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Heated drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: Does this KitchenAid dishwasher have a heating element? I need a dishwasher that thoroughly dries dishes and the interior of the dishwasher.I am sensitive to mold and cannot have any water retained in the dishwasher.

A: We have had our new 39dB KitchenAid dishwasher for one week after replacing a 22-year-old KitchenAid washer. Love the sound level; everything we expected. The wash cycle cleans very well, but it takes considerably longer. presumably because of water conservation. It does have dry settings. One is regular and there is also an extended dry. To answer your question, we ran both settings. With the regular setting, there was still some water droplets in crevices of dishes and the stainless-steel tub also has small droplets. On the extended level, the dishes were very dry, but there very small droplets visible on mainly the interior of the door. Hope that helps.

Q: Am considering returning my new bosch for this KitchenAid. Is there water left in the dishwasher after a cycle? How does the KAid do with plastics? I'm torn, too hot will melt the plastics, too cool will not dry them. I don't want to use a drying aid.

A: From my personal experience, anything labeled 'dishwasher safe' comes out after the wash cycle in perfect condition. No damage to plastics, but there will be water left on them. We normally crack the door open after the cycle is completed and the plastic cups dry.

Q: Does the delivery/install package include disconnecting and removal of the old dishwasher?

A: No. You must disconnect and remove the old dishwasher out of the space where the new dishwasher will be installed. There is an extra "disposal haul away" fee for your dishwasher (saves a trip to the dumps if your old dishwasher is beyond repair).

Q: The height opening in my counter is 34 inches. Will this fit?

A: Yes, it will fit. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our KitchenAid appliances!

Q: Is this a glossy or matte black finish? Also...How long is the express cycle?

A: Hi BettyBoopaka! The finish can be described as a "satin" type finish. It's not a high gloss and it isn't a flat finish. Also, the time on the express cycle will vary depending on load size and dirt. Here is the link to the "Cycle Guide" for this model. https://bit.ly/3OHSMxA It will give you an idea about how long on average each cycle is. We hope this helps!

Q: What is the actual product depth is it 21 1/2 or 24 1/2? Both measurements are listed on the specs so it is quite confusing

A: Hello Jm, the dimensions of the appliance are Depth 24 1/2", Height 34 5/8", and Width 23 7/8". We hope this helps.

Q: Warranty?

A: Hello, we have provided the warranty down below. https://s3.amazonaws.com/sm-backend-production-attachments/warranty-w11655295-revA.pdf
