Lady in a Jam - BLU-RAY

Lady in a Jam is a classic screwball comedy starring Irene Dunne as Jane, a young lady who is suspected of insanity after she squanders her entire inheritance yet refuses to accept her poor financial state. Dr. Enright (Patric Knowles) is the handsome doctor assigned to her case, unbeknownst to Jane. Posing as her chauffeur, he drives her out west to her rich grandmother, from whom Jane hopes to recoup her fortune. Refusing to give Jane

The unlikely combination of John Wayne and Joan Blondell adds a bit of vinegar and spice to this wonderful costume comedy-drama. Jenny Blake (Blondell) is the beautiful owner of a riverboat casino, but she aspires to a life in high society. Jack Morgan (Wayne) is her business partner and influential political boss - the two are in love, but Jenny decides to leave him and the business so she could marry socialite Alan Alderson (Ray Middleton) for prestige and in return she forgives Alan's gambling debts and pays off the back taxes of his family's once-grand mansion and plantation. Her new in-laws are infuriated by this marriage of convenience, and do everything in their power to ruin Jenny in the eyes of society. Directed by Leigh Jason (The Mad Miss Manton).

Past and present collide in this supernaturally funny buddy comedy when stoner-slacker Hannah (Melanie Lynskey) is hired to portray Lady Wadsworth (Judy Greer), a Southern belle who died in 1875, in a tour at Wadsworth Manor. Hannah, a hot mess, figures she can fake it - until the ghost of Lady Wadsworth appears! Lady Wadsworth tells Hannah it's time to change her wild ways - and she'll haunt her until she does - in this hilarious movie costarring Justin Long and Ryan Phillippe.
