Lancaster Skies - BLU-RAY

A loving homage to the classic British war films of the 1940s and '50s, Lancaster Skies soars in it's depiction of the legendary bomber crews who fought for freedom. Douglas Miller, a broken, solitary Spitfire ace who survived the Battle of Britain, transfers to Bomber Command, determined to take the war to the skies over Nazi Germany. Miller must take the place of a Lancaster bomber crew's cherished and respected skipper, who was killed in action. Though the crew is against him, he will try to gain their trust - and overcome the darkness in his past - to become the leader they so desperately need in the pivotal aerial battles that await them over Berlin!

Uprooting his family after being assigned to a remote testing facility in Alabama, nuclear engineer Hank Marshall (Tommy Lee Jones, No Country For Old Men) is faced with a moral decision as an opponent of the atmospheric tests he's asked to complete. Adding to an already volatile situation is Hank's sultry and unstable wife, Carly (Jessica Lange, Tootsie, TV's American Horror Story), whose flirtatious nature begins to erode their relationship and bring unwanted attention to the situation. Rounding out the cast is Powers Boothe (Tombstone, Sin City) as Vince Johnson, the focus of Carly's carnal desire, and Carrie Snodgress (The Fury) as Vera, Vince's long-suffering wife.

An eager British army recruit (Peter Firth) in World War I is assigned to a Royal Flying Corps squadron stationed in France. His romanticized view of warfare is quickly shattered as he learns the harsh realities of aerial combat and sees his commander (Malcolm McDowell), an ex-schoolmate he once looked up to, depending on alcohol to cope with the carnage. Christopher Plummer, Trevor Howard, and Ray Milland also star in this powerful WWI drama. 113 min.
