We ended up buying this dryer out of necessity. We had a six year old gas dryer from LG, but our condo's ducting was not to code, poorly designed, and would require the cooperation from two other owners to repair at what would likely be an insane cost, so ductless it was. My previous experiences with ductless dryers had me pretty convinced we'd end up with mostly dry but still a little damp clothes that weren't warm. That is absolutely not the case with this dryer. After years of dealing with a gas dryer that couldn't dry correctly due to bad ducting, we're suddenly getting dry, warm clothes out of the dryer and I could not possibly be happier. Drying time is a little bit longer, but even doing sheets/blankets is still sub two hours. Most loads take about an hour to an hour and fifteen. The app that integrates with it is nice in that it'll both notify you when the dryer is finished and also give you an estimate of how much longer drying will take. It also estimates your power usage, which does appear to take your local utility into account if you give them your general location. So far, energy usage seems quite low. We're in a reasonably expensive part of the country for utilities, and for the 8 times we've used it this month, the estimated energy cost is under $3. A couple of the downsides - the need for a 240V outlet. We had to have one installed in our laundry room. That did add a few hundred dollars to the overall cost. The lint filters are both more complicated than I'm used to and require more maintenance. There are two filters, one that you clean every time like normal but it opens up like a clamshell and you clean it from the inside, and a second that that first filter fits into that needs a cleaning every 10th cycle or so. Ideally on that tenth you either wash both filters with water and let them dry fully before putting them back in or apparently you can use a vacuum cleaner or something similar. It's a little more work than I'm used to, but not a huge deal. That said, a lot of the manual seemed very concerned with putting anything back in damp, so I get the impression that excess moisture/off odors can become an issue if you're not careful. Overall, I really like this dryer, and not just because we couldn't make a traditional one work with our living situation. Energy usage is low, clothes come out dry and warm, it seems like it's gentler on clothes than traditional dryers, and the app integration is pretty great. I can't speak for other ventless dryers, and especially for all-in-one washer/dryers, but I have zero regrets switching from a gas dryer to this. It works great and other than it being slightly more work to clean out the lint filters, it's really no different from having a standard vented dryer with a vent that is actually functional.

When this thing works it is BY FAR THE BEST DRYER I HAVE EVER USED! It’s amazingly quiet and energy efficient. I love the app and what it brings to the table. The fact that you do not need a lint port connection is amazing!!! It dries very very well and you would think this is a tumble dryer the way this thing operates! SECOND TO NONE! If your model doesn’t give you any trouble you are in for such a treat. Now to the bad part…. I ordered my dryer in February, it arrived in June it was projected for Sept but I put pressure on my representative and she graciously found one. The issue I’m currently dealing with that spurred this review was that my start button has stopped working after 3 weeks of use…. I have done ALL of the troubleshooting from LG but to no avail. I purchased a 5 year geek squad protection with the dryer but be sure to read the fine print guys, the first year you are obligated to use the manufacturer warranty. So now I’m doing the dance with LG and best buy to whose problem this is. OH JOY! The touch interfaces on appliances are futuristic and all but I miss the old days when mechanical controls were king… I hope you do not have any issue 1.receiving your model and 2. That it doesn’t give you any issues in the first year at the very least. Otherwise this unit is a dream…

Purchased this dryer and matching washer for a laundry/ bathroom remodel. The style, capacity and controls are all big positives. Love not having a dryer vent … the avoided expense and maintenance of the dryer vent line is a real upside. Have had a condensing dryer before but this was my first heat pump dryer purchase. It can/does get hot and drys well … maybe a bit slower than a conventional electric or gas dryer however significantly more efficient.
