    Quality!

I placed these around my new 83 inch OLED (had to use 240 inches for 4 sided coverage) and my wife loved them so much she had me go out to get more to put around our other 65 inch TV (used 160 inches for 4 sided coverage). These lights are on the pricier side and after doing a lot of research, I decided to spend the extra money because the reviews out there were so positive. First, color accuracy, brightness and different color patterns are awesome. Second, the app is outstanding and these also play really well with all of your other smart home devices. I have this paired nicely with Alexa and also my Harmony Remote to turn them on when the TV turns on. Its also pretty nice to just ask Alexa to change the colors for you when you don't have your phone handy. After using these for the last few weeks, it wasn't hard justifying paying more for Lifx then the other brands. What really swayed me to get these was reading about the reliability of the cheaper light strips and how they would go out after a few months. My one complaint is that you can't cut them to the size that you want. Not a deal breaker but would definitely be nice to be able to do it without voiding your warranty. I turned off these Bias lights behind the TV one night and my wife's response was "Ewww." We really can't watch TV without these now....they really make the experience better and help your eyes out at night!

LIFX makes great strip lights. Works with HK.

LIFX makes good lights. I posted another post for the 40" extensions for the LIFX Z Lightstrips. Check that out to see how the lights look in the room (kitchen accent lights on top of cupboard). I put in two of these LIFX 120" Z Lightstrips "Color Zones" and added four additional 40" extensions to complete the run onto of kitchen cupboards. Lucky enough to have outsets on top of cupboards which made it easy. The strips are high quality, just stick them in place after you clean well. I have another set of the Lightstrips on the back of a 65" TV for theatre lighting. I've owned that one for about 4 years. Going strong. If you use Apple Home app (formerly HomeKit), the LIFX lights works great with them. I have a backhaul ethernet eero Pro 6 for wi-fi from Cable mode and they work flawless with this setup. All their current lights have printed HK codes.

Great for adding bias lighting, don’t remove

Pretty good light strips. They are REALLY bright and have a wide range of colors and settings. I put mine behind my TV for bias lighting. They stick well and make an even color behind the TV. Three strips worked well for my 50” TV. Do not remove them when stuck to a surface unless you’re ready to buy new ones or throw them away. They will break and bend.

A Good Decision to buy this Kit

Was very hard to pull the trigger on which LED brand to go with. Watched many YouTube videos and still was not sure if I had everthing needed. This kit works great eventhough I was not sure that I was getting the app installed correctly. In the end, it suddenly just all worked! My phone and my iPad both control the setup flawlessly. I am confident that I could successfully add more to the system if desired. looks great! Be sure that you understand how to deal with looping the strips for corners if you apply them to a tv. Each corner uses about 5-6 inches of light. They all suggest that you install them with the tv lying on a flat surface. A great idea IF your tv is not mounted yet. I was not going to rish damaging a $3K 77" Sony over a $100 LED kit. I installed the lights with my tv on the wall. Took patients and planning but came out fine.

    Top tier LED Lightstrip 10/10.

I’ve bought many other, none close to this light-strip. These can get super bright unlike most and can do all temperatures of white unlike most, the color accuracy is amazing too! I tell Siri set color to tangerine, or skyblue and it is perfect every time. They are fully integrated with HomeKit and their native app is ok but no need to bother with it unless you want moving lights or different pieces to light different colors. But even that’s very rare with other light strips. This is now my third set bought; Bought the first time for my TV then for my brothers and now for my desk.

Questions & Answers
  • I am trying to find out what is in the box. Is this a true starter kit? Is it just the light strips or does it come with the power adapter and controller? I don't see that in the specs.

The package contains three light strips and a power adapter. One of the strips plugs directly into the power adapter and the other two can extend the original one to create one long one (the two wouldnt be able to be powered unless you purchased additional power adapters). You use the app in order to control the lighting. In my home we use Apple products so we integrated the lights into the Apple Home app (free) and even the single Alexa device that we have in our kitchen.

  • I am building a home theater and wanting to put LEDs around the screen. I would need 38 feet of LED strip. Can I connect 4 of these 120-inch strips together and have it all synced with one controller? Thanks in advance!

This pack is 3 strips that are about 40" each, the maximum you can have on one controller is 10 40" strips for a total of 400" or about 33 feet, but the maximum brightness of the chain of strips is reduced by each strip that you add after the 4th strip

  • I understand that strips can be cut to length. Is it true that the cut portion cannot be used again (i.e it becomes trash)?

The directions specifically caution against cutting this strip of lights. That would have been handy in my case, but I found it useful anyway. And, while you can use the lights in a curve along the backing, like around the edge of a TV, it doesn’t curve side to side very well at all, as in an under kitchen cabinet situation.

  • Would you be able to remove them and reapply them say if you were moving or wanted them in a different location?

Yes. I originally had them inside my closet and removed them and placed under my bed. So far so good

    Answered by BestSoFar
  • Can the app distinguish and run two sets of these in two different locations? For example, one set in a home theater, another in a bedroom, using the one app?

Absolutely, you can create your rooms and label each light.
