Liv Kristine - Amor Vincit Omnia - VINYL LP

Ltd. Edition blue transparent vinyl. InchRiver Of DiamondsInch, the sixth solo album by the queen of Scandinavian Gothic Metal, continues on the path set by the EP InchHave Courage Dear HeartInch (2021), which received great international acclaim. All tracks on the new album were composed by Liv's long-time friend Tommy Olsson (Theatre of Tragedy, Long Night) at his Black Rider Records studio in Tau, near LIV Kristine's birthplace of Stavanger in Norway.Carefully spending time with the compositions that kept coming out of Tommy's studio in 2021 and 2022 felt just right, like a yin-yang experience music & pre-mix (Tommy O.), own lyrics and melodies, the finishing touches (mix & master by Eroc) and visuals (photos by M. Rohbach) merged into exactly the album LIV Kristine had passionately longed for.InchOur Immortal DayInch is a duet with the incomparable singer Østen Bergøy (Long Night, Tristania). InchI just love that Sisters of Mercy feelingInch (Liv about the song).Fernando (Moonspell) lifted the title track InchRiver of DiamondsInch to a new, magical level. LIV Kristine's sister Carmen Elise Espenæs (Savn, Midnattsol) appears as an exceptional duet partner on the faster track InchLove Me HighInch. In addition, Liv's husband, Michael Espenæs is the voice behind the highly emotional male vocals on Jon Lord's masterpiece InchPictured WithinInch. Another cover, InchTrue ColoursInch (Cindy Lauper), was beautifully re-recorded by Ecor (Rocco Cogliati) with keyboards and piano.InchEach song follows a path of strong authenticity and unbound creativity, which is my innermost and first criterion since InchTheatre Of TragedyInch (1995), InchDeus Ex MachinaInch (1998) and InchLovelornInch (Leaves' Eyes). The lifeline that flows through all twelve compositions unveils a heart-based personal path, a sense of deeper truth and a soul vision of pure bliss consciousness - an eternal

The Mighty Rootsmen features the unparalleled talents of Reggae superstars Toots Hibbert, Luciano, Gregory Isaacs, Michael Rose, and the rhythmic prowess of Sly & Robbie, Mikey Chung, Robbie Lyn, and Sticky Thompson, alongside Zap Pow Horns members David Madden, Calvin 'Bubbles' Cameron, and Glen DaCosta. A groundbreaking collaboration - it is a celebration of reggae's iconic artists, seamlessly blending the genre's rich rhythms with rock and soul classics. Brought together by producer Ralph Sall (Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Cat Stevens) and recorded at the famous Anchor Studios in Jamaica. The album's unique sound comes from the decision to let the musicians' instincts drive the creative process, striking a balance between homage and innovation. Featuring classic tracks from the likes of Tom Petty, The Steve Miller band, The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac. It is produced with a reverence for authenticity and musical mastery. This once-in-a-lifetime project brings together a dream team of Jamaican legends, paying tribute to their artistry and the art of collaboration. This is Timeless classics with a reggae supergroup. Tracks like InchFly Like an EagleInch showcase Steve Miller's unexpected, soulful guitar work layered over a reggae groove. Meanwhile, Mike Campbell's guitar on InchI Won't Back DownInch deepen the album's connections to rock royalty. Yet, the project remains firmly rooted in reggae. InchMy intention was to try to do something that hadn't been done in reggae before by putting these giants of the genre together to make a record that leaves you with good feelings, they're very recognisable as the songs they are but have a distinct reggae feel and stamp.Inch reflects Ralph. The Mighty Rootsmen stands as a tribute to the enduring power of reggae music an album that brings joy, good vibes, and a profound connection to musical history.

Kory Clarke was probably never long for Trouble, but this 2008 live (and only) featuring himself and the band documents the good, the bad and the ugly of his tenure. Coming in after the legendary Eric Wagner left (again) Clarke exhibits none of the mournful wail that Wagner had and instead is like a rocket fueled injection into the Trouble vocalist spot.Wartell, Franklin and Olsen are there to hold down the fort as the band makes it's way through a set of material from the Simple Mind Condition with sprinkles of their not too distant past thrown in for good measure. Instead of recording an all new studio album with Clarke and letting him cherry pick from the catalog the songs that work best for him (ala Van Halen w/Hagar or Dio w/Heaven and Hell) the band hit the road with Clarke manning the boards. His raspy whiskey soaked vocals lend themselves to songs such as The Eye and The Sleeper but run afoul as he never could quite get the classic Tempter down right as to why it's not featured here.No doubt Clarke's antiestablishment rhetoric fits the band lending some of these songs a more poignant bent as he screams 'middle east Vietnam' during Plastic Green Head, but it's also nice when the band pops into the instrumental Endtime giving Clarke a moment to rest. Live in Los Angles is a document to a band in flux as Clarke would exit and Exhorder front man Kyle Thomas would enter next.
