Q: I ordered this model with the 32GB of ram, hasn't arrived yet. Just wondering will this one be able to be upgraded to 64GB?

A: You cannot actually upgrade a machine you have to order it with the 64gb. This machine's internal components cannot be upgraded.

Q: will bestbuy be selling the M1 Max chip wtih 64GB memory and 4TB hard drive?

A: Most likely not as bestbuy usually tends to keep configurations that sell the most vs those that are higher end/custom orders. You will most likely have to go to apple or a different store.

Q: Can you add another SSD, or are you stuck with only 1TB?

A: At the moment, even the standard setup with “only 1TB” is hard to come by and on backorder! So, though special orders of 2, 3, & 4TB drives are possible, it’ll be a while in coming. Initially, I wanted a 2TB Drive, but when I saw that by adding it, I’d have to wait an extra month(!!!), I went for 1TB! On the plus side, that saved me $400, which I’m putting toward more cloud (which was already becoming a necessity), a few USB-C thumb drives (which I kinda needed to get anyway), and possibly another external drive. And that still leaves me with some of that $400 left! :-)

Q: is this MacBook Pro 16 M1Max chip work good for music production : Logic Pro X, FL Studio, Ableton and editing 4k , 8K video :Final Cut Pro ? Does it gets overheat, overload for doing that or MacBook will run apps, program run slow. Thank you.

A: This computer is doing great. I am editing music and 4k video from my go pro. I found that the more memory the better. 32gb definitely better than 8gb or 16gb for multitasking. Not overheating at all. I have not been able to overload a video/music editor yet so I am not sure how far you have to push it to see any slow down. This is the most capable computer I have owned.

Q: Will BestBuy be able to special order other configurations of the new 16" MacBook Pro? I am looking order the configuration of 2TB SSD and 64GB RAM.

A: Most likely not and you will probably have to go to apple for that.

Q: Can anyone tell me performance of Illustrator and Photoshop? I have the i9 2019 16" Pro right now, and for whatever reason it is particularly sluggish, near impossible to work on anymore.

A: I use both Illustrator and Photoshop and it’s lightning fast. Large images open almost instantaneously.

Q: Does Best Buy offer any discounts ie, Apple store offered me a discount on my iMac purchase due to my employment with Lockheed Martin as well as a U.S. Air Force Viet Nam Veteran and a Handicapped Senior Citizen?
