Madonna is the eponymous debut studio album by American singer and songwriter Madonna, released on July 27, 1983 by Sire Records. It was renamed Madonna The First Album for the 1985 international re- of the album. In 1982, while establishing herself as a singer in Downtown New York, Madonna met Seymour Stein, president of Sire Records, who signed her after listening to her single InchEverybodyInch. The success of the single prompted Sire to sign her for an album's deal. Reggie Lucas was chosen as the primary producer, while Madonna solely wrote five of eight tracks on the album. However, she was not happy with the completed tracks and disagreed with Lucas's production techniques. She then invited John InchJellybeanInch Benitez to help her finish the album. Benitez remixed many of the tracks and produced InchHolidayInch. Album Tracks 1. Lucky Star 2. Borderline 3. Burning Up 4. I Know It 1. Holiday 2. Think of Me 3. Physical Attraction 4. Everybody
Clear vinyl LP pressing. Like a Virgin is the second studio album by Madonna, originally released on November 12, 1984, by Sire Records. Following the success of her self-titled debut album, Madonna wanted to become the record producer of her next album. However, her tag was not ready to give her the artistic freedom and she chose Nile Rodgers instead to produce the album due to his work with David Bowie. Madonna wrote six songs on the record, five of which feature Steve Bray as a co-writer. The album was recorded at Power Station Studio in New York at a quick pace. Rodgers enlisted the help of his former Chic bandmates Bernard Edwards, who was the bassist, and Tony Thompson, who played drums. Jason Corsaro, the record's audio engineer, persuaded Rodgers to use digital recording, a new technique introduced at that time. Album Tracks DISC 1 1. Material Girl 2. Angel 3. Like a Virgin 4. Over and Over 5. Love Don't Live Here Anymore DISC 2 1. Dress You Up 2. Shoo-Bee-Doo 3. Pretender 4. Stay
