I was being completely realistic when I bought this so there really were ZERO expectations that this would be a good guitar for any experience level. This was purchased for my 5.5 y/o daughter who expressed interest in playing guitar, but she has small hands. The guitar is smaller and thus easier to play and for what it's worth, has a decent and big sound. The strings aren't all that great, who knows how long they sat on the shelf and the intonation needs to be set. The guitar frets out around the 10th, probably due to a high fret or something similar, but I was surprised that it was very playable in the majority of areas you'd be concerned with anyhow. Maybe this was why it was on clearance. For $54, you get instructional DVDs, the guitar, a cheapo soft case, some picks, another set of entry-level strings and a decent enough cheapo strap. At that price, it's a decent bargain. At $75 I'd even still consider it. At $100+, I'd probably pass and save my money. The reason I bought this over other guitars at similar or even cheaper price points was for the smaller scale though which surprisingly wasn't as easy for me to find out there in the world.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas so she could learn to play. The Guitar is a bit smaller than a standard size but does the job. Everything you need to start learning is included in this. Great buy for someone just learning to play.

I bought this guitar for my five year old son as a Christmas present, the small size is perfect for him as a young beginner, easy to hold and play, The sound and finish of the guitar are excellent, particularly for the price. I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking to learn as a beginner or as a nice practice instrument with a compact size that doesnt require much space.

You can't beat this guitar if your somewhat capable of doing some upgrades. First thing I recommend is changing the strings if you have money to change the saddle bridge to bone or some other material you can sand the bottom and lower the action just don't do too much or you will be replacing it. I just did the strings and saddle bridge I made a homemade one with wood and tuned it up with the guitar tuna app (please support that developer its a great app) and this thing sings!

Great guitar for a child who's just beginning to play! And if they decide not to stick with the instrument, at least it was fairly inexpensive!

This guitar is good for starters, but when I first started to tune the guitar the string broke. Although, it comes with extra string. I am still struggling to put the string back on so I'm not sure if this a great overall product.

This guitar is the perfect size for a youth beginner. The sound is decent but not great, on the tinny side, although it's not fair for me to be comparing it to my guitar that cost 10 times as much. A MUCH better product then the toy or FirstAct other brands.
