Q: Does this offer a Independent second zone?
A: Yes, with a 5.2 channel primary area. See Marantz SR5015 manual online, speaker connections. FYI - I researched and compared Marantz and Denon, very thoroughly, including repeated back-and-forth sound comparisons in Best Buy's Magnolia Home Theater sound studio, and IMHO, there is no comparison. Denon sounds more rockish noisy, but Marantz sounds beautifully clear, clean and warm, and you can hear every instrument perfectly. Go Marantz!
Q: Can I bi-amp my front tower speakers?
A: The manual shows b-amp connections of front speakers using the rear speaker connections. Directions can be found on page 48 of the manual.
Q: If I am running the center, left /right and sub wired - can the surrounds be run wireless?
A: Hello and thank you for your question. All channels must be hard lined to the receiver including the rear speakers.
A: Basically the same answer I gave you for the Denon question. As long as the speakers are passive and can be connected to the AVR's amp terminals via bare wire or banana plugs, then that's fine. The sub needs to be powered and have an RCA type input. The sub connects to the AVR's Subwoofer Pre-out using the RCA connection.
A: thanks for asking I do not know what connection you have on the back of your television but it will be one of the two optical or coaxial cable and if you have HDMI Connection you can use that which everyone you can choose will give you the perfect sound and picture you want.
Q: Can you use this in just a 5ch configuration? Also with a external 5ch amp?
A: Yes, you can use up to 7 channels if needed, so 5.1 is supported. You can also connect an external 5 channel power amp using the 5015's full RCA pre-out section.
Q: Can the surround back channel be reassigned to front height channel
A: Yes, in the Amp Assign menu. (GUI: Speakers - Manual Setup - Amp Assign)
A: If you look under “specifications” the dimensions are listen, pretty simple.
