Q: I have a question about the Marantz cinema 50, will this amp running (very) hot as the older models do from Marantz? kind regards Rob.

A: Mine runs somewhat hot but no much different than than the Pioneer I had previously. It needs forced cooling because it’s in my entertainment cabinet. I placed an AC infinity cooling plate on top.

Q: Is this receiver going to replace the Marantz SR7015?

A: No, that would be the Cinema 40, the Cinema 50=~Marantz SR6015. Peace and blessings, Azeke

Q: Is the Marantz Cinema 50 recommended to powerup the home theater made of KEF- Q Series 6.5" 2.5-Way Floor standing Speakers , Q Series 6.5" 2-Way Bookshelf speakers, Q Series 6.5" 2.5-Way Center-Channel Speaker and KEF - Kube 12" 300W Subwoofer?

A: Hello - yes, the Cinema 50 is well equipped to drive KEF- Q Series 6.5" 2.5-Way Floor standing Speakers , Q Series 6.5" 2-Way Bookshelf speakers, Q Series 6.5" 2.5-Way Center-Channel Speaker and KEF - Kube 12" 300W Subwoofer. Proceed with confidence. 14 gauge speaker wire is recommended for any speaker runs of less than 15'. Beyond 15', 12 gauge is recommended.

Q: If I setup front R&L speakers to preamp out (to use a separate amp) will that allow the system amps to apply more power to remaining channels since little power is now used to drive front speaker pair?

A: Hello, While it won't allow for greater overall power delivery to any given channels, it does take some of the strain off the circuitry, allowing the Cinema 50 to run more efficiently than it might when also powering the R&L speakers.

Q: Does this support 7.2.4 Configuration ? On the back of the AVR I see LCR + 2 Surrounds + 2 Rear Surrounds + 4 Height Channels with a total of 11 Channels. I wonder why is it advertised as a 9 channel AVR.

A: Hello, the Marantz Cinema 50 has 9 channels of amplification and 11.4 channels of processing. The 11 speaker terminals provide flexibility with different speaker layouts available today, like Atmos or Auro-3D. Pre-outputs are also available for connecting external amplification, allowing you to connect 11 speakers—9 to the receiver and an additional 2 using the pre-output allowing for a 7.4.4 Atmos speaker setup.

Q: Can I cast music from android mobile using "google cast" option available in different music apps.

A: Absolutely, Bluetooth connectivity is a strong point of the Cinema50. I find casting to be a breeze from my Android phone

Q: how many channels can support with external amp.?

A: Hi Ivan, The Cinema 50 has pre-outs for external amplification of 11 channels, plus 4 sub-woofer pre-outs, and in addition a Zone 2 pre-out.

Q: Which is the best power surge protector that can protect the Marantz - Cinema 50 together with KEF- Q Series 6.5" 2.5-Way Floor standing Speakers , Q Series 6.5" 2-Way Bookshelf speaks that will be running on the Marantz - Cinema 50?

A: Hello Nashlk, there are many decent surge protectors available. AudioQuest now offers a good selection of surge protectors, and are often used with Marantz Products.

    Marantz Cinema 50 FTW

I upgraded to the Cinema 50 after owning a Marantz NR1603 since it was released. I've always had B&W speakers and thought that what I had was enough since my room was on the smaller side. I decided to upgrade when I saw Marantz's 70th anniversary trade in program, and I decided on the Cinema 50. It was clear from the first 10 minutes that the Cinema 50 is a clear step up from what I had... not to mention the new design of Marantz products is really nice. The best way I can describe it is everything sounds bigger, even at low volumes. I don't consider myself an "audiophile", but I like audio and home theater gear. It looks nice and sounds great. While this isn't the cheapest option out there for what you get, in my opinion (and considering what i had before), I do think that there is definitely a noticeable sonic difference which translates to using it more often which is kind of the whole point, right?

    New Marantz customer!

This is my first Marantz product and I’m quite happy with my decision to finally upgrade the heart of my system. I’m able to run 7.4.2 with Klipsch reference and have flexibility to add another channel at some point. Sound is warm and enveloping, movies are robust yet crisp. Purchased in November and it took me a few weeks to dial it in and fully reach perfection, but it is spot on. After calibration, I did have to bump up the bass a bit, since Audyssey seems to set subs a touch too low. Highly recommend to everyone, including the serious audiophile.
