Built to Be the Center of the Party

The Marshall Bromley 450 feels like exactly what you’d expect from the brand, just tweaked into a more portable, party-focused setup. It leans heavily into volume, presence, and design, and after spending some time with it, it’s clear this speaker is built to be the centerpiece of a room or outdoor gathering. The first thing that stands out is the design. It has that iconic Marshall amp look with the black and brass finish, textured exterior, and physical control knobs. It feels durable and well-built, and the integrated handle makes it easy enough to move around despite its size. It’s not something you’re tossing in a backpack, but it’s very manageable for carrying between rooms, out to the backyard, or loading into a car solo. Sound is the main attraction here, and the Bromley 450 delivers. It gets very loud without sounding strained, and the 360-degree audio design does a great job filling a space so you’re not stuck in a “sweet spot.” Whether you’re in front of it or off to the side, the sound stays full and balanced. Bass has good presence without overwhelming everything else, and vocals and instruments come through clearly even at higher volumes. The EQ knobs are right on the control panel and are simple to use to shape the sound to your liking. It’s well suited for parties, but still sounds good at lower levels for more casual listening. Battery life is another strong point. With over 40 hours of playtime, this is the kind of speaker you can use across multiple days without thinking about charging. That makes it especially useful for trips, outdoor setups, or longer events where access to power is limited. The removable battery is a nice touch if you want to keep a spare charged and ready. The input options add a lot of versatility. In addition to Bluetooth, you get 3.5 mm aux, RCA, and even microphone and instrument inputs. That opens the door for things like karaoke, small live performances, or just plugging in different audio sources without needing adapters. I had fun setting it up as a portable busking setup and dialing in the reverb and delay. The clipping indicator LED on each instrument input channel is a nice touch so you can quickly tell if you need to bring levels down. These features go beyond what most portable speakers offer. The built-in stage lighting is a fun addition without feeling over the top. You get a few preset modes, including one that stays more ambient and others that are more energetic. It adds some energy in party settings but is easy to turn off if you just want that clean guitar amp look. With an IP55 rating, it also holds up well for outdoor use. It’s not something you want to leave out in the rain, but it can handle dust and splashes, which makes it more flexible for backyard or campsite use. Overall, the Marshall Bromley 450 is a loud, well-built speaker with strong sound quality, long battery life, and a level of input flexibility that sets it apart from most portable options. It’s not the most compact speaker out there, but if you want something that can anchor a party and still look good doing it, this is an easy one to recommend.

Great versatile speaker - heavier than expected

The Marshall Bromley 450 portable speaker was not at all what I expected. It has a handle and was described as being portable and easy to carry to parties, popped into a trunk or carried on a train. That may be true for a strong person, but not for me. It weighs about 40 pounds and it was a struggle for me just to get it out of the box. I can’t easily carry it across the room, let alone load it in my car. I expected it to be about half the size and weight. However, since I got it to use in my husband’s large shop, the unexpected size and weight shouldn’t be too big of a problem. The important thing will be the sound, ease of use and ease of making/keeping connections since he isn’t very technical. This speaker has drivers on the front and back, as well as tweeters on each side which gives a true 360 degree surround sound. The battery is large and is said to last for over 40 hours. There are 3 light presets. One is random moving lights and the other 2 move with the music in different patterns. There are inputs for a microphone and instruments, so it could be used for karaoke. It is dirt and splash resistant, making it a good choice for a beach party or picnic. The battery can be charged by plugging the speaker into an outlet or by removing the battery and charging it with a USB connection. The battery gave me some initial difficulties that weren’t its fault. There are indicator lights on both the battery itself and on the face of the speaker. Both indicators were solid red. I interpreted the red bars as “needs charging” and tried to get them to turn green. Nothing I did could get the color to change. I finally realized that red is the color and the number of bars indicates the charge level. The speaker is elegant looking. Although the finish is rubbery so as to be water resistant, it has a faux leather and fabric look. Hidden behind a water resistant door are a USB-C input, RCA jacks, ports to connect another speaker and inputs for the microphone and instruments. There are knobs on the front to adjust the treble, bass, etc., and the lights. There is a button to switch between Bluetooth, USB-C, RCA and Aux. It is simple to operate without a lot of complicated knobs and levers. If used as a stationary speaker, all the connections and fine tuning can be preset. Then all that a technology challenged person needs to do is flip the power switch. It connected instantly to my phone using Bluetooth. Although an app is available, it wasn’t needed. I’ve been playing music using a music app installed on my phone. The sound levels are numbered 1 - 10 and the 4th setting is as loud as I’ll ever need it. But if cranked up all the way, the sound would carry a long distance outside. All in all it’s a great speaker, although maybe not quite as portable as advertised. It is portable from the standpoint of having a long battery life and Bluetooth connectivity. The battery could even be charged using a portable charger to extend the play time beyond 40 hours. It's just a little heavy and bulky to fit into a small car trunk or carry on a train.

Great Sound, Great battery Length, Portable

I have been a Marshall product fan for some time and have already invested in the other portable speaker products they have. I was excited to try out this Bromley 450 version as its larger to help with those large party gatherings. I was pleasantly surprised at how lightweight it was when unpacking along with how the battery is setup. Right out of the box, it was very easy to setup and came with a pretty good battery charged. I went ahead and charged the battery fully before use before started testing it. It connected to my bluetooth phone easily and produces great sound right from the start! I enjoy the treble and bass settings however wish it had more bass. The battery position and charge was very impressive. You can easliy remove the battery to check the charge level on the battery itself, to charge the battery itself without the whole speaker or use the large speaker without the battery. The battery is nicely snug and the cap allows for simple waterproofing when its outside. Of course you dont want to submerge the speaker however if its raining not to worry the speaker will survive in the rain. Overall the speaker sounds great and the battery life is very impressive. I do wish it had more bass, however it still sounds great and makes for a great portable speaker.

Big Marshall sound with that classic Marshall look

The Marshall Bromely 450 is a party speaker you won't soon forget nor will your guests. Ive brought it to a few outings and have gotten several compliments on this speaker. First off the Bromely 450 looks good and stands out from what's on the market right now and usually Marshall brings that timeless classic look to their products. The build quality is there and so is the fit and finish. The buttons and dials are smooth and satisfying when adjusting the volume and settings. Besides the sound of the Bromely 450 my favorite thing on this speaker is the red lighted rocker style power button, it's just satisfying to click the button and get the party started instead of having to hold on the button for it to power on luke every other speaker on the market it's the details that matter). You can play your favorite music from bluetooth, RCA, AUX and even USB-C sources. As far as controls you get a media control button when using bluetooth. There is also a customisable "M" button that you can assign a custom action to using the Marshall app, There is your standard volume, bass and treble knobs that are lighted. There is also volume control for inputs 1&2 as well as effect controls and lastly a button fo lights which let you toggle between 3 different lighting modes. On the backside you ve got the aforementioned sources (USB-C, RCA IN & OUT) and 2 XLR/6.35mm mic inputs which I thought was a reall nice touch no matter what type of mic you have. Also on the backside there is a battery access compartment that you can open up and swap out batteries if you have a spare, another great feature from Marshall. Let's not also forget the convenient integrated carry handle on the side of the Bromely 450 as this is a hefty speaker coming in at a little over 27 Ibs. Almost forgot to mention the speaker also supports speaker stands as it has access on the bottom. Now for the sound...it's a Marshall speaker so there is no surprise that the Bromely 450 can get extremely loud. It has enough sound presence to keep your party rocking with it's true stereophonic 360 sound no matter what angle your listening from. I've played all genres of music and it all sounds good, delivers great bass and clean treble. I do wish there was an EQ within the Marshall app to fine tune your music but it's not a deal breaker as it still sounds amazing. I also wanted to mention the lighting effects really bring that feeling like you're at a stage concert. Overall, the Marshall Bromely 450 is a great party speaker that I will likely keep and enjoy for years to come as it feels like one of those products that you hand down to your kids.

    Big Sound With Marshall Style

I have a friend with one of the smaller Marshall style speakers and thought that sounded great, knowing of the quality on that one I had to pick this up! The styling on this speaker is great! It has that classic Marshall Combo Amp styling, handle on one side to carry. The knobs are used for multiple functions associated with the speaker. There is an app that allows you to change inputs, listen to broadcasts, a couple settings and update the speakers firmware. The app is fairly simple, I mostly updated the firmware and checked it out. The speaker has only been used for Bluetooth connections so far. The speaker comes with a power cable, preinstalled (removable) Battery and some manuals. There is several inputs on the back USB-C, RCA, Aux In plus two inputs that can be switched between microphone and instrument. The Inputs are a XLR/6.35 mm combo jack each have their own volume knobs, plus an effect knob between them. The last input on the back is an Aux Output which allows you to Daisy Chaining. The Drivers are Dynamic on the Bromley 450, 2 x 6.5inch 40w Woofers, 4 x 2 inch 6w Full-Ranges, and 2 Passive Radiators. The Frequency Range is 40Hz-20,000Hz. I am definitely enjoying the speaker as I have been working on things in house or around the yard. The volume is enough to blast tunes while being productive. Looking forward to testing it out this weekend when the family gets together for easter. I wish they had more light effects or even added some color LEDS to alternate between some colors. The lights are a nice touch, and not essential so no biggie. You do get 3 light settings with the 'M' button defaulting to a "Strobescope" which flashes all lights on the face of the speaker.
