About this product
Kaboom behind this picturesque title lies the explosive mixture created by the quartet of the Luxembourg drummer Michel Meis. This time the band has a guest on some of the songs the French violinist Théo Ceccaldi. Alisa Klein on the trombone merges as casually as unpredictably with the violin tone of Ceccaldi, and band leader Meis knows very well how much she is worth for the band. InchAlisa Klein is the soul of the band,Inch a fact of which he is very aware. InchHer sound is very warm and emotional and has a lot of space, but it still sounds very intimate. Such a deep-sounding wind instrument sound totally appeals to me.Inch The well-structured pieces of the band leader have exactly the right mix of eclectic modern jazz and improvisational desire for experimenting. Meis can rely on his quartet, which has grown into an unbeatable unity since the debut album InchLost in TranslationInch, which received excellent reviews. InchNo member of the band can be replaced and it would significantly affect the sound if one were missing,Inch Michel Meis stated.

Ten years of Revue Blanche. That's ten years of making music together. At the occasion of this anniversary, the ensemble is going back to their roots to vibrant turn-of-the-century Paris, where a luscious body of music emerged that has occupied a central place in Revue Blanche's repertoire since the very start. Misia Sert became our guide. Walking in her tracks, Revue Blanche paid a call on Villa Servais in Halle - where she spent her childhood - and played a Polish song by her grave in Samoureau, near Valvins. While they encountered many iconic masters enchanted by her, she also put them on the track of lesser-known composers. With every step and every gem their curiosity grew, Misia seducing them to go beyond what they'd initially imagined. The present recording is Revue Blanche's homage to this fiery, unbridled spirit who - by devoting her life to the arts - perennially inspires others to do so as well. The ensemble found working on this album a challenge as well as a saving grace in a year without concerts. The involuntary break from the stage allowed them to focus on the recording process, where they applied ourselves to making Misia a perfect tribute. Now it's finally here, our hope is that the soundsketch of this grande dame, who truly mastered the art of bringing people together, will help answering to the profound need for beauty and connection felt by many.

Kaboom Atomic x The Dirty Sample's collaboration album, 2 Cents, is the opus of two old heads barking at the moon and hating on modern rap. It's not that they hate modern rap; this is just the stuff they love. Instead of glorifying youth to an unfair degree, the duo lean in on their age and experience to bring you a sound that is weathered with grumpiness. And humour. The Dirty Sample's dusty, uptempo boom bap beats provide a fun backdrop for Kaboom Atomic's mostly serious subject matter that is delivered with a sense of humour in a frequently fast-paced flow. And though the title obviously refers to the two cents given by these two old gents, it also does double duty as a subtle critique of the little money paid to artists for Spotify plays. Can Kaboom Atomic x The Dirty Sample break even?
