NAD PP 4 Digital Phono USB Preamplifier Great quality, just a little expensive.

Ordered this to replace a 13-year old Pro-ject Phono Box II, which seemed to hum no matter what I did with grounding, power supplies, and cables. Sound on line output: impressive solid bass definition, smooth midrange, and transparent detail in high frequencies, with very little hum or noise. Great dynamic range on a pre-amp at this price. Hookup: All options MC/MM & Phono/Line input selectors have discrete connections & switches. It took me a couple tries to get the right connections made. Power brick is small, but still takes up more than a plug’s width. How does the power button work? I can turn it on but not off. It’s a mystery. Doesn’t appear in the quick setup diagram.

This preamp worked really well with my turntable and Receiver, which does not have phono level inputs. Unfortunately, it died a few weeks in. Best Buy gave a full refund, and I am trying another brand as a replacement. I’ve had several NAD products in the past, all high performance and reliable. Maybe an anomaly...I’ll” try again with them I’m sure.

After checking online about this product I decided to buy it. After I hook it up to my receiver and turntable and play a record my roommate screamed " lower the volume " I knew it worked boosting the volume I also hook it to my computer to record and it recorded perfectly. Very great product as it serves all my needs

One of the reviews I read before I made this purchase was that it made the person's records sound louder, and while I don't necessarily hear that much of a difference in volume, I do notice a difference although it is hard to put into words what that difference is...maybe, better sound quality?

As I am in the process of deciding on a new amp and my current one did not have a phono front end I did not want to spend a fortune on a MM PreAmp. Does the job and reasonably well for the price.

Connected this to my dad's old Sanyo. Worked like a charm.

NAD has been making top quality components for a long time, and this unit lives up to expectations. No issues so far ,and good sound with my old tt.

I have this dac paired with the denon turntable ortofon blue cartridge with emotiva xmc1 preamplifier and sunfire signature power amplifier and B&W CM 10 towers, I was ready to buy another turntable ( it sounded decent) but this and a cartridge change was definitely what i needed, pairing is critical and time consuming (+ costly ) to figure what sound signature you're after
