I'm an old retired DJ from way back and I wanted to get back into it. The technology of DJing has come a long way from my early days of turntables and CDJs. I was drawn to the Z1 because it would work with both my iPad & my iMac at home. Like all the Native Instruments gear in my arsenal, it's simple to plug-and-play. I unboxed it, plugged in the USB, fired up Traktor and was mixing right away. This mixer works flawlessly with both machines. The knobs are solid and turn smoothly, while the crossfader glides easily and quickly. There are not a lot of controls to mess with on this mixer, but that's one of the things that I like most about it: start-stop tracks, cue, mix, EQ, and that's pretty much it! Another solid piece of equipment from Native Instruments, definitely glad that I picked one up.

I had a request to play a friends birthday bash on the jersey shore this summer. I live in california and did not have my equipment with me. So I borrowed a computer downloaded about fifty great tracks bought the Traktor Z1 and rocked the house. There ended up being about 2000 people at this event . It was one of the biggest birthday parties ive been too. I played a two hour set which mixed seamlesly most of the time. Recorded the set through Traktor. Then played it back at the end of the night and everyone loved it again. I Highly recomend the Traktor Z1. Its very cheap on the wallet but a great product all around.

I have bought my items from Native Instrument company, and when I found I could order them through Best Buy, and cover them with a great protection package that is icing on the cake!

Great backup mixer and the built in sound card is excellent.
