Miami Vice is a greatovue with a good cast IF you forget the TV show it was based in. granted, the characters are the same... But this is not the TV series. So watch it in Blu Ray AS A MOVIE but don't compare it to the TV show....it's not the same. But as a "drug movie" it fulfills!

Michael Mann is a genuis and the hate for this movie was misguided. Also, the mustache rules.

Great remake. Not really as big as it should have been. Presentation on a 4k player and TV looks fantastic

I loved Miami Vice in the 80’s. A great combination of music, action, and fashion. This movie is a lot more realistic and gritty than the tv show, but still a great watch.

Michael Mann, who executive produced the 1980's TV series, has been planning to bring this project to the big screen for years. It was, in all senses of the word, his pet project. That just makes the result that much more disappointing. The story revolves around Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, two Miami Vice detectives who go deep undercover to stop a drug-lord. This may sound like a lot of movies that you've seen. That's because it is. In fact, the film is really similar in a lot of ways to Michael Bay's action flick Bad Boys II. The big difference is that Bad Boys II is fun to watch. I love Michael Mann, who has given us brilliantly tense dramas (The Insider, Heat) and dazzling action thrillers (Collateral), but this film was worse than medicre: it was boring. Miami Vice does have one great redeeming value, though: its cinematography is great and the film looks AMAZING. I actually was dazzled during some of the scenes by just how cool (for lack of a better word) everything looked and how vibrant the film suddenly seemed. It does make it just that much sadder that the story isn't up to par, but if you get the chance to see this, try it out if only for a change to see what great cinematography can do for a movie. If I ever upgrade to Blu-Ray, I'll definitely have to give this one another viewing.

At the sale price this is a good movie to own. After you watch it a few times it ends up being a pretty cool movie; a nice break from the usual action film. The aircraft scenes are some of the best from Hollywood as this was filmed in hi def. There is a very unique aircraft featured in the movie that has a story behind it..

This movie suprised me, I thought it was going to be dumb but the directing was great. It had a grimey feel to it and the music and visuals made it really feel like miami. The bad guys were mysterious and the movie made me dream of being in another place, it pulls you in. Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx made a great team. I really enjoyed this movie.

i am not a big fan of jamie fox and colin ferrell but you put them with michael man my favorite director you get magic, the camera work is awesome and the music puts you in a mood for this movie. the plot is original although it drags on parts but thats a minor flaw.

They talked, they talked, and they talked....okay where is the action that started off this movie. This movie shouldn't have been two hours long. They should cut out the long dating thing with Colin Farrell and Gong Li or at least shorten it like they did Jamie Foxx and his love interest. I guess the only reason I like this movie is because of Mr. Foxx's role and the gunplay. Two hours of this movie and only forty-five minutes has gunplay, that would be good if this movie wasn't promoted as an action/thiller.

Grew up on the tv series and this movie takes thing to another level. Great story, great execution, furthers the characters introduced in the series, can't say enough good about this movie. One of the best movies made in recent decades.

I thought is was good not too far off from the tv show. It lived up to my expectation. I was not disappointed. I recommend it to anyone who is thinking about buying it or just likes drama movies.
