Good but not perfect

I really like these headphones. They sound great, they are very small and very comfortable. However, there are a few issues I have that make it impossible for me to give them five stars. First, there's no wireless charging which, at this price point, is baffling to me. Second, I would like to be able to customize the touch controls myself and not have to pick a preset group of controls. The battery life in the buds is really good but the battery in the charging case is average at best. The app is fine but there seems to be a lot of unnecessary clutter and it can be a little difficult to navigate. Overall, I'd say that these are a pretty solid set of buds, but not for the $200 price range

Regarding the touch sensor, you can actually change the function assignments to the touch sensors of the left and right units using the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. For example, the music playback function that is assigned to the touch sensor of the right unit in the factory settings can be changed to the touch sensor of the left unit. You can also change the settings that do not assign the music playback function, noise canceling function, Ambient Sound Mode and playback volume adjustment function, etc. For reference, you may refer to the following links:

Sony almost created something too good!

So if you were a fan of the xm4s and loved the sonund but wished they could have been a little less thick or less fat...this is the answered prayer to that request. The Linkbuds S gives you the lightest and smallest High Res audio earphone in the world. They sit in your ears very well and even flat enough to lay down in them. The sound quality with EQ abilities gives you the same options you have wirh the Xm4s. Some say a little better balance is heard in these vs the xm4 but I dont hear enough difference to truly believe I. would look back and miss either one and that's big for this model as it is cheaper. In fact, the only thing I would say might bother some is the lack of wireless charging and maybe a few hours less on total battery life. Personally anything over 5+6 hours is good and anything over that is just icing on the cake. Other than that you got the hear through options and touch controls like tje xm4s as well. But the biggest plus and shock is how much better these are vs any other earphone on the market at taking phone calls. The voice quality is at the top of the market for earphone. Sony truly worked its magic with the microphone array on this earphone. These things are even better than brands like Jabra which is sayjng a lot. So buy with the confidence that you truly have a true All arounder.

Great stylish & comfortable earbuds!

I got tired of Airpods for the last two years. Wanted to switch to these earbuds because they looked promising. I'm also really into earphones/headphones in general. These did ot disappoint at all! They sound good, clear and fluid! Though, in comparison to Apple Airpods they sound fairly the same, but they're comfortable & good quality. I didn't even switch the earbuds because they were snug in my ears from the start. The case seems a little cheap in material, but the color is great. The battery life is still sufficient. Don't get discouraged by the 6 hour battery life. It's more than enough. You won't be using them for 6 hours out of the day if we're being honesty. I'd still charge them when you can, though. These will try to make you get 360 Audio compatible apps like Tidal, but honestly Apple Music & Spotify are enough for these earbuds even without the 360 audio feature.

Solid Mid-Range Buds! Too expensive @ $200 though

Sony LinkBuds S are a step in the right direction for Sony. They are a solid mid-range set of buds, light in the hand but feel well made (I wouldn't say feel premium, just ok) but regardless of this and the lack of wireless charging or multipoint connection (neither of which I care about) the SOUND is great. Subjective? of course... but even the novice mainstream music listener can appreciate these set of buds. They are not for everyone, but the small form factor, good Sony Headphones Connect App and very good sound are an easy recommendation at say... $150-$175 max. They are not $200 worthy, but as a Sony fan and Sony supporter... I'll let it slide. I would suggest looking out for discounts though. These would be an easy 5 stars if the price would reflect their worth. But... my opinion and these are certainly good enough.

Good sounding pair of earbuds with basic controls but for Sony keeps using bad batteries on their products. This is the second pair of Sony earbuds where one of the batteries either goes bad by not charging or not holding the charge as long as the other.

Big upgrade from my gen 2 AirPods. These sound great, stay in your ear and connect just as fast. I would recommend downloading the Sony app because you can really customize your sound. Keep checking for deals. I paid $129 which is cheaper than AirPods and is a much better product for the money.

I have used these for over a month now and I am very satisfied. Perfect fit for my small ears! Very comfortable and light. The sound is great. I always use the ambient sound and I have no complaints.

A home run for Sony

I am a big fan and this says alot from an audiophile with ober 900 completed audiobooks on audible. I have purchased true wireless since they first cam out (the early Eating brand) and have stayed current on the technology owning over twenty pairs of all brands. Currently the two Sony buds as soon in the photo are my exclusives. Just all around a perfect bud. Before the 500s came out (also a great bud) I never purchased songs industry leading ANC buds because they looked ugly as heck. They have changed thay an created a beautiful bud.

Great value and surprisingly durable!

For the price, these are great wireless earbuds. They stay in the ear when I run, no problem with sweat or light rain, battery life is very nice. Please keep in mind that the material of the earbuds and the case feel almost like paper. It is an unusual texture for earbuds and I worried they would be damaged in water, but it is only a cosmetic choice. They hold up great. You need to download the Sony app to use these. A few too many preferences you must setup before you can use the earbuds but I like that there are tailored experiences in mind for an affordable earbud.

Worth every dime

I was using Powerbeats pro before I bought Sony linkbuds S. Powerbeats pro had multiple issues and I decided to trade in to buy a different brand of EarPods. I thought of trying Sony linkbuds S. Oh man, I made the right choice. It works perfectly for me. Its noise cancellation feature is really amazing. I’ve been using it for the past few weeks. I have a 1.5 hours commute time to work and I take public transportation. The noise cancellation feature cancels the external sounds to almost 100% that I’m able to enjoy music without any distractions. The sound quality is incredible too. The pods perfectly fits in my ears even while I run/jog. Recently I paired the pods with the SONY smart TV in my bedroom and I’m able to enjoy watching TV even while lying in my bed as the pods are small and not sticking out of my earlobes. Sony products never fail to amaze me. These EarPods are worth every dime.

Muffles human voices really nicely

Connects really fast. They were able to cancel out human voices very well. (I have not tried them when around screaming kids. But I'm sure they would muffle the sound a good bit if combined with white/brown noise) They can be comfortable as long as you choose the right size and don't wear them too long. I use over the ear headphones for longer use and these earbuds for when it's really noisy and need to focus for a bit.

Great headphones, comparing to the xm4s, very similar sound quality but that's where the similarities end, these are VERY comfortable and fit super well, along with being super light whenever I go for a run or go to the gym, these stay in and I never have to push them to make sure they sit right, noise cancelling is amazing as well. Another pro is the price difference from something like the xm4s. I also really like the case and has an above average battery life. They're also fairly small and don't go too far out of my ear so they aren't super uncomfortable if I'm laying down on my side listening to music. Only cons I can think of is that the case doesn't have wireless charging, which is fine since I only need to charge it maybe once a week. Although I don't prefer spending $200 on headphones, getting these on sale would be amazing.

My new favorite wireless earbuds! Try them out!

I have purchased many brands and types of wireless earbuds over the years, including top name brands. So far all of them have left me disappointed and missing the quality of my wired earbuds until now. The Sony Linkbuds S is the first wireless earbuds that has the quality of sound I expect and surprisingly wonderful noise cancelling capabilities. The value is amazing, especially if you can buy them on sale. They are also the most comfortable wireless earbuds I have ever owned and can listen for hours without fatigue or having my ears hurt. They especially sound even better when coupled with correctly paired foam eartips. With a 15 day return policy I strongly recommend you buy these and compare them to any other pair of wireless earbuds you are considering. The magic of the sound comes alive as you change the settings in your phone and the Sony headphones app to prioritize sound quality and set up DSEE Extreme. Sony has designed amazing software to pair with their hardware to create amazing sound.

If you’re looking for something comfortable and great sound quality, this is the best recommendation. Easily connected to my phone, and love the battery life on the ear buds.

You should get more for the price point.

Great set of earbuds. I have really small ears so it's hard for me to find buds that actually fit, these do. These are extremely light buds and have great sound. Noise cancellation is top-notch once again from Sony. Accompanying software UI could be a little bit better. For the price point though, I think you should have a wireless charging case; these don't. I also think that you should be able to connect to multiple devices. Connectivity can sometimes be lacking especially if you're in a high populated area I've noticed the connection isn't as stable. Other than that, sound quality and comfort are a+.

We truly appreciate your feedback with the interface of our Sony Headphones Connect app. We are sorry if the charging case of these headphones doesn't support wireless chargers. We are also sorry if you are having a connectivity issue when using them in a highly populated area.
For connection with multiple devices, unfortunately, the LinkBuds S do not support Multipoint Connection, but it can be paired with multiple devices (up to 8)—though it can play audio from only 1 paired device at a time.

Noise cancelling seems to work fine. Sound quality is fine too. My only disappointment is that you cannot just wear one you must wear both or it will not work at all.

These are terrible. Terrible to connect, requires the app and then they fall out of my ears. I have small ear canals/ears and even with the smallest attachment they still don't feel secure. I really like how they look but that is all they have going for them. My favorite so far despite the poor mic quality is the Beats noise canceling ear buds. Secure, reliable, easy, and sounds good. Samsung is good and sound core is good. These are terrible. I own at least seven pairs of various earbuds , because I am autistic and wear them while taking my boys to and from school to cancel out excess noise while I drive on the freeway and misplace them often (hence the missing pairs from the image) I wish the sony sleep buds were bluetooth for music, etc ,those fit beautifully, I loved them. I have tried all of sony's earbuds and none of them fit to enjoy the sound and make use of the noise cancelling feature. I am disappointed.

We understand that finding the perfect fit can vary from person to person. If you've already tried changing the earbud tips to another size and you're still having issues with fit, we suggest trying out third-party earbud tips.
