The 5-port Gigabit Switch provides simple network management delivering network monitoring, traffic prioritization and network segmentation beyond simple connectivity. They also come with features such as IGMP snooping, cable diagnostics, loop prevention and Auto DoS prevention, providing much needed improvement for network performance and resilience.
Q: What's the difference between managed and unmanaged ethernet switches?
A: Unmanaged switches merely allow you to connect more devices via ethernet to your network. They have no other functionality. Managed switches allow you to setup vlans, quality control, flow control, limit throughput, port mirroring, so on and so forth usually by installing a piece of software on a computer created by the manufacturer of the switch, or by going to the IP address assigned to the switch in a web browser. You can also password protect managed switches. If security or quality of service is what you are after then I would suggest a managed switch. If all you need to do is add more devices to your wired network then go with unmanaged.
A: You may get lag, but it wont be due to this switch.
