I had to wait to write a review until I finished networking my house to use this, bought it early on holiday sale. That said this is outstanding. It works flawlessly with my POE cameras and DVR, Apple TV pulls nearly 900 MBPS through the switch and 940 directly off the gateway, very impressed so far, and the power adapter is grounded too!

Like most Netgear ProSafe stuff, this switch is built like a tank. According to the box, it also has a lifetime guarantee. For a managed switch at this price point, that's hard to beat. The throughput is also much better than the switch it replaced. I was disappointed in the rather limited Web interface, however. Apparently to get the graphs and such, you have to download Adobe Air and WinPcap. I hate Adobe and avoid their software whenever humanly possibly; and WinPcap is no longer being maintained, so I'd rather not install it on my computers. I also wish there were more granularity to the bandwidth limiting. I bought the switch to tame Prime Video's absurd bandwidth use to 3 Mbit/s, which is all it needs to drive a 1080p television. But I had to choose either 2 Mbit/s or 4 Mbit/s. They use a drop-down rather than a self-entered value. It's no big deal, and the switch is well-made overall, so I'll keep it. But better built-in configuration options would have bumped this up to five stars.

I was in need of a switch for some security control we were doing for a building we had just taken over. This thing has it all in one package! We had a DVR that was on the fritz, but still wanted to maintain a camera view for our guards to live stream. The PoE works flawlessly! It allowed us to not have to run a power splitter and then take up a port. The speed is phenomenal as well. The original switch in place was a $35 Wal-Mart special and didn't handle the speeds we were requiring for our network. The price was right on too. All-in-all, I would purchase this switch again!

I bought this using my bestbuy points and some cash. The size is very compact and I use it to power my POE IP camera. I can configure the ports into different segments which is great as I can have several VLANs in a small package. Management can be done using a regular browser. Instructions are also easy to understand if you know what you're doing. Over all, this is an affordable POE LAN switch which is perfect for PoE Cameras, or for deploying Hotspots that allows for a POE connection. You can also perform QoS per port which is great if you have several types of operations in the network (Video, Audio, Gaming). I would say this is a great buy for me.

Purchased this device for my home because I'm using a Polycom phone from work that uses POE to power the phone, and I wanted to tify up the cables and need a few more network ports. I've also purchased this device for my work site in the past and it works great and is very easy to manage. Great device, very reliable.

Good little managed switch to learn about vlans and use POE (power over ethernet) to power the raspberry pi's (with a poe hat). I use this with a small cluster of Raspberry pi's and no need extra power supply for all 4 of them. Just need to plug in ethernet and they are online and powered up.

I love these Netgear ProSafe switches! The value here is the Lifetime warranty. As long as you have proof of purchase, you're protected. Tech support can be a bit tedious when getting warranty replacement, but I've never been denied. The firmware is a little lacking and they could make it better. However it has what I need which is VLAN support, web based management and PoE. I use these with Ubiquiti cameras and Access Points. They work perfectly well together.

Finally, we we have a managed switch at an affordable price (when it goes on sale). Eight reliable ports and POE if you need it. The POE ports can be used for non-POE devices because the switch doesn't apply power without first negotiating with the device.

Great way to increase speed and cut diwn on cords. PoE is power over ethernet. Couple of my devices like phones and cameras can be power by the Yellow ethernet jacks instead of having to plug into another 120 volt wall plug in. This hub is getting internet from simply a short Cat7 cord that connects to my output or jack on my mesh wifi unit. Gives me 200+ Mbps to my desktop and two laptops, phones etc from my fiber fios onternet wirelessly on the opposite side of my house. Also has smart management not used it since the connection is superior. Months of use. Love it! Have recommended to my friends to purchase.

I needed more ethernet ports some of which need POE for remote security cameras. Easy setup and works great. Competitive price and could pickup up within an hour.

I needed this device to configure IP Cameras and Phones that are powered by poE. This was easy to set up and really is robust for the price point. I recomment it.

I have used Netgear hubs for many years. The metals hubs have always lasted. (My decades old 10 Mbps hubs still work.) This was a great addition for my home office/computer lab environment. The 8 ports provide sufficient ports for plugging in new devices. The 4 PoE ports provide power to IoT devices. The VLAN capability allows traffic to be segmented on the switch. For less than $100, you get a smart, managed switch that is easy to use.

I needed the 4 VOIP ports for my job. Did a lot of research and this Netgear managed switch is easy to configure and is highly reliable.

This awesome product I bought because I needed more Ethernet ports. I went to Best Buy and showed an employee a picture of the one that AT&T had in my office for TV U VERSE & told him I needed more than the 5 ports one AT&T installed for me. So this was the only one that matched the one I have. I did not need Power over ethernet but you can still use them as just regular ports. Easy Set up and I love their products. Just plug & play easy set up process in minutes.

Bought this to isolate my server and gaming PC to utilize OBS with NDI to setup dual-pc streaming via network. My Netgear wireless router isn’t gigabit. Decided on a desktop switch over a router so I could set this up in my office. One thing I need to mention is initial setup. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE set this up BEFORE attaching to a DHCP router. The instructions recommend attaching power-only and accessing the device via 192.168.x.254 (can’t remeber if x is 0 or 1) and disable DHCP. I also didn’t very much care for the netgear app mentioned in the manual. Just follow the recommended setup. This device has individual port prioritization and bandwidth control. More features than I’ll ever need. Also, gigabit file sharing is insanely fast. Solid product.

I love the 4 POE ports that supply more than ample power for my security cameras. Overall it is a breeze to mount the unit to your wall. The connections are rock steady and I love being able to use the managed features for additional security and monitor port usage,

Had issues on network and needed a managed switch to easily track them down. Easy to configure and manage. Replaced old switch from 10 years ago and everything is running fine now. New printers had to be reconfigured to increase their speed using this switch.
