This is the second Netgear-ac1200 dual-band wifi adapter I've purchased from Best Buy. I'm no brown noser so I'll give it to you straight up, this tool is great, it works on every system I have and ties right into the comcast modem I use, in the two current cases for which this is used, one HP laptop with Windows 10 and one Alien Ware tower both about 30 to 50 feet from the modem it has boosted the signal input and output by 200%. It's easy to install, works like a dream and keeps the information you install it with up to date all by itself, it never drops out or throttles down at any point on either of the computers they are hooked up to. Price is a little high, that's big box store money issues for you, but the overall value and ease of use make it worth getting and using.

I thought my laptop had been rendered useless when I could no longer connect to the internet due to a broken hinge that connects the screen to the computer. I never knew there was such a thing as a removable wifi antenna. Voila! I'm up and running, and greatly pleased. The antenna design is a little large and I have inadvertently moved it around a bit. That would be my only complaint. The size and shape make the positioning of it precarious. It comes with a USB dock for desktop use, but I usually hold my laptop in my lap so it's difficult to use the dock in that situation. The overall performance of the antenna is great!

Owns up to the description as advertised. Practically installs itself. Plug it in to your desired USB port & let it go! It also comes with an additional stand to connect to

Bought this as an upgrade to keep in step with the AC technology of my new router, it's an upgrade alright, I have more power, signal and reception than I can believe, or have ever had, and I don't even run a 3.0 yet, don't hesitate, it's well worth the price.

I took advice from the Best Buy sales person and he was spot on. The item worked for me first time. Sometimes my computer gets hung up but I don't think that's the adapter. I probably need to get his advice on a new computer! Will do in the near future. I would buy this adapter again.

This product has greatly increased my capability to connect my wi-fi products from a further distance. Well worth the money.

This product is great at doing what I need (look at my 5G Wifi signal) . However, it was a pain to set up. I had no idea what I was doing. I'm not that tech saavy. Once installed I have ad no issues other than it sticking out too far and bending the USB. I wish it was shorter, much shorter and didn't stick out that far.

Fits my needs, I was using a PC that doesn't have wireless capability and my long ethernet cable latch broke off so I figured I should get a wireless connection to my gateway this one looked like it would fit my need.

Works great for my custom built computer that doesn’t have the built in wifi.

It works as expected. I have my PC about 50' from my router and still get decent speed

Out of the box it was great, stable connection and easy installation. The signal is great and with the added extension has good range. Compared to my old adapter I was breezing through youtube and regular browsing and It's decent when gaming as well. Although, after a week or two, I started having problems with it. In some instances, it would randomly disconnect at odd intervals and then it would reconnect a few minutes later. It doesnt really bother me that much since my old adapter does it as well. It was only once or twice a week so it doesn't really bother me. My biggest gripe though, is that in online games, sometimes the ping would spike up and then it goes back to normal but because of that time gap, the game would freeze in response. It is really annoying since it does it randomly, either every 15 mins or after an hour or two during gaming. My previous adapter (even though it was bad in general) never had any problems during gaming. It wouldn't be a problem if all you do is general browsing/streaming and with light gaming. But with online games that rely on stable ping such as FPS, It's bad.

It was very easy to install, plug and play on Windows 10. Just plunged it in and Windows 10 installed the drivers needed.

Product works great, has a great range easy to install. I can't say I noticed a marked improvement over internal card but i think it is better. Great range but it sticks out and is prone to getting caught on things. The last one ended up getting bent and broken. Had to replace. Best buy replaced no problem. Best buy is great

This unit gives you great range and speed. Was not sure if this would do the trick since my router is on my lower floor. This wifi receiver is great and I can game flawlessly with out any issues. It gets a better wifi signal in the same area than my iPad or other wireless devices do. I was not sure if it would do what I needed, but with Best Buy's reward zone return policy I know I would be taken care of if I was not happy. I have had zero issues and wish I would have bought it sooner. Go buy one if you are looking, you will not regret it.

I had a few software issues when first setting up this device, so be cognizant that you may have some issues yourself. Additionally, during my free Windows 10 Upgrade from Windows 7, this wireless adapter single-handedly bricked the update process multiple times. If you plan on doing an upgrade for your machine soon, I would suggest pulling the wireless adapter from the machine first. Overall, the speed and range I've been getting out of this adapter have been great. Definitely would recommend.

Worked exactly out of the box. I'm glad they included the mini dock as this let me re-position the antenna to aim towards the router. The house I'm in has trouble with keeping a steady signal but I wasn't in any position to upgrade the router. So far I've had no dropped signals. Wireless AC USB wifi adapters still seem difficult for me to come by so I'm glad I found this.

I got the USB 2.0 version of this adapter before going to Africa two years ago. It extended the range on the 2.4Ghz band and added the 5Ghz band my laptop's WI-Fi did not have. Worked so good my African colleague "requested" that I sell it to him. I did that with the idea I would replace it with the USB 3.0 version when it came out. Finally got around to that when I got an AC Access Point that can really make use of it.
