I should have tested it before the return window ended. The blue light never came on. It also got stuck and could not be removed without the help of a screw driver. Tried it twice, got stuck both times, and did not function either time. Nextbase support just says agents unavailable. This is on a weekday during business hours in the UK (where they are located).

Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear about your experience, that’s certainly not what we’d expect.
The blue light not activating and the OBD cable becoming stuck are not typical, and we understand how frustrating that must have been. We’re also sorry to hear about the difficulty reaching support during business hours.
You can also reach out to our support team at [email protected]
and mention that our reviews team referred you—we’d really like the opportunity to assist further and make this right.

Good product. It is very convenient you just got to make sure to disconnect it when the car is being storage because it will drain the battery

Hello Edgardo,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
I'm happy to hear that you've had such a positive experience with our product!
About the camera draining the vehicle's battery, on average, our Series 2 Dash Cams use approximately 300mAh (Milliamp Hours) of power while turned on, recording and charging, 200mAh while in standby mode (charging) and around 100mAh in standby mode (fully charged).
The average modern car uses between 50 and 85 mAh on its own with nothing plugged in, but of course, plugging in additional electronic devices will increase the overall power consumption. The OBD Hardwire Kit has been designed to cut power to the Dash Cam if the car battery drops below 11.2V.
If the automatic cut-off kicks in (to protect the car battery), but you don’t drive the car for some time after this occurs, your car may still naturally keep consuming power, which in a worst case-scenario could leave you with a flat battery. The same thing can occur if your car hasn’t been driven for an extremely long time, with no Dash Cam, or other electronic devices plugged in.
If your vehicle is in frequent use, this shouldn’t present a problem, as your car battery is being topped up every time the vehicle is driven, meaning your vehicle can be left for days on end with no issue.
It is impossible for us to give any definitive statements on how long the battery will take to run itself down, as the Automotive Battery Management Systems (BMS) varies so widely and some manufacturers have far more sophisticated BMS than others.
Please consult your vehicle manufacturer if you would like to know more specifics regarding the BMS and average power consumption of your vehicle.
