Lens works great on my d810. Colors are excellent, focus is fast, zoom ring is smooth. Great for sports and landscapes not to mention light in weight.

So far I am enjoying the lens. While this class of lens is often considered a step up from beginner, do not let that persuade you away. It is well constructed, and is an excellent option on both FX and DX bodies. So far I have used it on my D7500 (my D850 will see more use from the 70-200mm f4). It is giving me the extra reach I need without weighing me down. As I shoot more I will update, by thus far am very happy. Sharpness and VR is great, but it will not make up for bad photography...you’ll need to know how to get everything out of a lens with variable aperture.

I had been using the older "G" model 70-300 lens for wildlife, but decided to give this a try. The AF is superfast, and on my full frame it produced fantastic quality! Can't recommend this lens enough. Especially for wildlife, but it does great portraits too!

There wasn’t much for reviews on this lens. Especially for wildlife photography. The lens is incredibly smooth at focusing and much faster than you’d expect. It’s very sharp and pics out immense detail for being in the middle of the road. The bokeh is superb. I’ve been incredibly happy with the lens thus far.

Bought this Nikkor lens to use with my Z6ii until the Z 70-200mm became available. Used ICW the Z adapter, was an amazing lens. Was able to capture my son's graduation from a fair distance with great results.

Great for close range, images rather fuzzy at long distance.

I’ve had this lens for a few months now, and have taken thousands of photos with it, primarily of birds in flight. And it exceeds my initial expectations in all regards. Despite is what some reviewers on YouTube would have you believe, this FX version of Nikon’s newest 70-300mm lens is quite sharp throughout the entire zoom range. The VR works very well. And target acquisition and tracking continuous autofocus works equally well. I’ve since purchased, and subsequently returned, two longer lenses (a 150-600mm and a 100-400mm) which I found to be too heavy and cumbersome for my type of shooting. While I did like that extra zoom range, I quickly found out that my keeper rate, of birds in flight photos, suffered when using those heavier lenses when compared to when I was using my noticeably lighter Nikon 70-300mm. Here’s a few BIF photos that I took with this great lens.

While this lens isn't great for low-light sports (indoor games, etc.), it really shines by producing sharp, crisp images. It's well built and one of my favorites in the price range.

This lens replaces the previous 70-300 AF-S VR model, and it greatly improves on performance all over, but especially past 200 mm, and brings AF speed to nearly as fast as the 70-200 f/2.8, really only being slowed down by the slower maximum aperture. The only drawback I've found is that with bright light sources in frame it tends to add veiling flare more than I'd like, but it's still better than anything else sub-$1k. It's inexpensive, but an absolute performance monster.

This is an excellent lens to have in your bag. I used this lens on my old 7100 years ago. I always regrated selling it. I recent purchased this lens again to adapt to my Z5 and it works flawlessly! So much more affordable than native Z glass. If you are anything up a paid pro, this is more than enough for your needs!

Wow. What a lens. I also own the Nikon 80-400 v2 lens. And in my opinion this is just as sharp in the center and better in the corners. And at a third of the price.

I bought this lense to use with the Nikon z6 and so far I’m impressed with the sharpness and how fast it focuses even with the Z bracket.

Purchased this a a travel lens to use on my Nikon Z7. Photos are very sharp, focus fast, and a great lightweight companion for this camera.

Even though is is a FX lens, it works very well on the most recent DX bodies as well. I use it on my D7500. It has superior optics and fast quiet autofocus. The vibration reduction is great and gives about 4.5 stops of stabilization. This lens was completely redisigned and uses some advanced design features. If you want a 70-300mm lens that you can use later after upgrading to a full frame FX camera, you can't go wrong with this one..

With no Nikon mirrorless native tele for awhile, this is a good choice with the FTZ adapter. Light, sharp and fast AF. Supposedly these AF-P lenses are better suited to the new mirrorless bodies because of stepper motor focusing. Okay, sure. It is fast to focus.

I absolutely love this product. I am a novice at photography but this lens has changed my ability to take amazing photos. I recommend this lens to anyone that is beginning photography or just wants to take pictures.

Very nice lens. It has become my main lens for most outdoor nature photography. Image quality is good and range of zoom is very useful in a variety of situations.

The lens is replacing the 70-300 that came with the kit. Almost twice as big but has better features, heavy enough to feel solid but not too heavy. I like it.

This lens was my go to for wildlife. Also great for blurring parts of your photos, if you want to.
