About this product
Something dark, melancholic, and at times even sinister is haunting each of the eight tracks collected on NOÊTA's sophomore full-length, InchElmInch, which is lyrically based loosely on emotions connected to the eponymous poem by the celebrated American writer Sylvia Plath. The music of the Swedish duo comes with an inherent ethereal beauty, which is carried by Êlea's both lucent and lucid voice. The focus on the singer's bewitching vocals is further underlined by a subtle and nearly minimalistic instrumentation by her long-time collaborator Andris, who masterly captures and enhances the musical moods. Taking their name from the ancient Greek philosophical notion of universal thoughts or ideas that exist independently of any agent having them, NOÊTA embark on their musical journey into the otherworld with the highly praised 2015 EP InchpsykheInch, which also refers to classical Greek philosophy where it denotes the wholeness of a person. This was followed by the equally acclaimed debut album InchBeyond Life and DeathInch in 2017, which added more depth and audible confidence to the duo's compositions. With the recording, production and mix again firmly controlled by NOÊTA, mastering of InchElmInch was for the first time left to the expert hands of Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus Studio (MAYHEM, WATAIN). Guest contributions by KNOKKELKLANG and P. Stille of STILLA and BERGRAVEN also hint to Êlea's roots in black metal that remain present although her darkness takes a different stylistic direction. InchElmInch witnesses NOÊTA charting their very own left hand course through the rising tide of unique female artists such as CHELSEA WOLFE, ANNA VON HAUSSWOLFF or EMMA RUTH RUNDLE to name but a few of the highly individual female voices claiming their territory in the world of dark music. Album Tracks 1. Dawn Falls 2. As I Fall Silent 3. Disillusion 4. Above and Below

Although an otherwise-new entity, Ehlder's roots are nearly as old as the forests of their native Sweden Ehlder is the latest creative face of the ever-prolific Graavehlder (formerly known as Graav), whose co-guided such cult entities as ARMAGEDDA, LÖNNDOM, and the recently resurrected LIK. As such, Nordabetraktelse bears Graavehlder's unmistakable magick - ancient, solemn, almost monastic. Black metal on the surface, but only barely; beneath that foundation, in the dirt and gravel and of the earth, exist a woodland mysticism and mesmerizing songcraft beyond compare. Put more directly and indirectly, as Graavehlder explains, what LÖNNDOM awoke has been passed on into the spirit of Ehlder, instilling the idea that there's always two ways to look upon a tree you have the visible part above ground and then the part that isn't visible, which you know to exist, so you have to acknowledge them both without deceiving yourself. Proudly pagan in outlook, Ehlder has thus been forming itself for many years through adversities, through ancestors, through time and the idea of what lies ahead. In his estimation, Graavehlder has only borrowed tunes and words that've already been written in one way or another, but it's been interpreted into Ehlder and the band's first public recording, Nordabetraktelse. This is the for Ehlder to the animal within, to hail the fire, animals, spirits, brothers and sisters, pride, family, and heritage. This is the old reborn anew. Album Tracks 1. Stridskall 2. ÄNDLÖS 3. Döden I en Döende Kropp 4. Hedningadrapa 5. Gammelmod 6. Tagen 7. Varerytm I Varganord

The long-awaited debut album Darkher is an intriguing, haunting trip through the mind and spirit of UK artist Jayn Maiven, a West Yorkshire-based vocalist / songwriter whose powerful, captivating music is characterised by doom-laden riffs, haunting, spine-tingling vocals, soul baring songs, layered with storm clouds of Guitars. Creating extraordinarily dark music full of contrasts, including both chilling loneliness and the warmth of hope, the sound of Darkher is veined by both an unsettling atmosphere of encroaching dread and a deep, otherworldly confidence. Darkher's first , 'The Kingdom Field' EP (2014), epitomized her broodingly intense music and created a stir across scenes, being hailed as Inchbeautiful, teeth-edging horrorInch and Inchutterly brilliantInch. Her debut album, 'Realms', impressively proves that the fire of great expectations raised by the debut's spark were more than justified. The album features nine distinctive, dynamic and dramatic tracks that are impossible to resist. Songs such as the sternly imploring InchMothsInch, the driving InchWarsInch, with it's signature drum march, or the sinister, unfathomable 'Buried' or 'Foregone' may be mentioned as cornerstones of an album that, due to it's quality and diversity, bears the potential earmarks of a future classic. Lyrically, 'Realms' mirrors the ominous, awe-inspiring character of the music; the tales on the album lie somewhere between this sphere and the unseen worlds before and beyond. Darkher's songs reveal her relationship with fear, death and spirituality and question how love can connect souls from past, present and future. InchAt times, I witnessed happenings,Inch She points out with respect to the title. InchAmidst the immense sadness brought upon by grief, these signs were both uplifting and magical, and this compounded my belief in other 'Realms'Inch Album Tracks 1. Spirit Waker
