Standard throw projectors typically need to be at least 6 feet away while short throw and ultra short throw projectors can be placed closer to the screen for use in smaller rooms.)
    • Portability: Fixed (Fixed projectors are ideal when creating an authentic theater atmosphere in your home. Often designed to stay in one place they may require significant recalibration if moved. Portable projectors, weighing around 5 pounds, are easy to move, but will still require set-up calibration and often have technology to reduce the complexity. • Vertical Scan Rate: 120Hz (Number of vertical lines displayed per second on the device.)

    • Maximum Aperture: f/2.4 (The limit to how wide a lens can be open, typically expressed in f-numbers. The smaller the number, the larger the aperture and the more light that can enter the lens. A larger aperture creates a shallower depth of field, helpful for keeping subjects in focus and blurring background details.)

Q: The largest image is just 100”? and in the description it says placement can be just a few inches away from the screen, however in the specifications, it states minimum distance is 6ft. Which is it?

A: If anything, it would be inches. Projector central states it’s a 1.5-1.8 ft throw distance. If this is from the lens of the protector and the case facing the wall, you’re looking at the projector case about 6-9” from the wall. Ultra short throw, really is ultra short. The LG one they made could literally touch the wall and still make something like a 65” screen size. Check out reviews from projector central, then come here and buy them on sale.

Q: Are passive 3d glasses supported?

A: No. Must use DLP Link 3D Glasses. Brands such as Apeman and Boblov are compatible.

Q: Can this projector be ceiling mounted?

A: We do not recommend ceiling mounting UST as the sharp angle of the dispersion field will make it very difficult to align the image.

Q: Is screen required?

A: Thank you for your interest in the GT5600. A screen is not required but for the best color reproduction, we recommend a fixed frame screen.
