OtterBox - Defender Series for Apple iPad Air 11-inch (M4), iPad Air 11-inch (M3), Apple iPad Air 11-inch (M2), iPad Air (5/4 gen) - Black

I’ve consistently chosen Otterbox cases for all my tablets and smartphones over the years because of their superior quality, thoughtful design, and reliable protection. Unfortunately, this is the first Otterbox product that has fallen significantly short of my expectations. I cannot recommend this case for iPad Air M2/M3 owners. Cons: Flawed Pencil Holder Design: The built-in Apple Pencil holder is unnecessary and poorly executed. The thin plastic swing-out door creates a weak point in the case. I never used the pencil holder, always keeping the door shut, yet the hinge still broke from normal daily use—simply picking up the iPad on the right side, as most right-handed users would. Now the door no longer stays in place and feels extremely fragile, compromising the protection Otterbox is known for. Inferior Build Compared to Previous Models: This snap-on case is a step down from the older Defender series. The kickstand design isn’t as convenient as the previous tray-style stand, which made docking and undocking much faster and easier. Poor Value: At a $90 price point, I expected better durability and design. There are more robust and practical options available on the market at a similar or lower cost. Pros: Slim and lightweight, which some may prefer—but at the expense of protection.

I’ve never gone wrong when choosing otterbox for my device’s protection. My lady likes the colorful ones but ultimately they are strong, sleek and dependable. The cases have saved my devices from hard falls many times over, worth the extra cost.

This product is truly a masterpiece. It’s durability and being friendly-user makes us parents confident that my toddler will enjoy using it while not compromising safety. Thanks to the BestBuy family for recommending this. If you have children, this one is the best gift to give them.

Love this so much! Works very well and is very slick. It also comes with a stand that works very well, offers probably the best protection for any iPad.
