OtterBox - Defender Series Pro XT Hard Shell for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 - Black

The case is very durable; I have dropped my phone many times, and it remains scratch-free with no damage. I would highly recommend this case if you want to protect your $1,800 phone.

I bought this case because I wanted something that would protect my phone right away while I waited for the case I actually planned to use. I’ve owned OtterBox cases before, so I already knew I could expect good protection, and this case definitely delivered on that. Pros: The protection is probably the biggest selling point for this case. It feels extremely sturdy and protects the phone from all sides and angles. I have no issues opening or closing my Z Fold8 with the case on, and everything feels solid. The front part of the case also has an adhesive strip to help keep it securely attached to the phone, which is a nice touch. The MagSafe magnet is also surprisingly strong. I’ve used several MagSafe accessories with it and haven’t had any issues with them falling off. If your #1 priority is protection, I would definitely recommend this case. It feels like it could take a beating and keep your phone protected. Cons: My biggest issue is the lip around the screen. It’s a little too high and makes some swipe gestures harder to use, especially accessing the Edge Panel. Swiping from the other edges of the screen can also be a little more difficult. I also had to make the handle I was using thicker so I could comfortably use it with the case. The hinge protection is a little bit of a mixed bag. I love that OtterBox protects the hinge because it’s one of the most important and vulnerable parts of a foldable phone. However, the hinge cover is fixed, so you can’t lift it up to clean underneath it. That’s something I wish OtterBox had designed differently. Dust can build up around the hinge area over time, and with foldable phones, I like being able to clean that area periodically. I’d rather have strong hinge protection that still gives me some way to access and clean underneath it.

I love OtterBox cases. This case is light and durable. I have dropped my phone several times already. This case protected the phone very well.

The is case is reliable and sturdy. One can open and close many times and wouldn’t have to worry like other thinner case where it is like a slip on and when you try to open it would slip off. This case stays on and is sturdy and reliable. It is a bit bulky but the good part is it does not slip off. Like many have stated, it would be perfect if it was not as bulky. I would recommend for the protection.

It is perfect if you want total protection, but on the thick side. Images do not show how thick it is one the case is on.
