A: The KX-TS880W does not use an adaptor. It uses (3) three high quality “AA” size Alkaline (LR6) or Manganese (R6, UM-3) batteries. The Caller ID and the speaker phone function will not work without batteries.

The telephone can still be used without the batteries installed but the display will become blank and therefore will not show Caller ID information.
