I’ve been using the LUMIX S5IIX for a few weeks now, and I have to say—it’s an absolute beast of a camera! As a filmmaker and content creator, I was looking for a versatile camera that could handle both high-quality video and stills, and the S5IIX has exceeded my expectations. The Autofocus is a huge step up from previous models. The phase-detection AF is incredibly responsive, even in low light, which has been a lifesaver during shoots. The new Active I.S. system is phenomenal—I can confidently shoot handheld without worrying about shaky footage. When it comes to video, the S5IIX really shines. The ProRes internal recording is a game-changer for my workflow. It offers incredible detail and flexibility in post-production. The camera also supports external SSD recording, which has been a massive convenience for long shoots. The dynamic range and low-light performance are stunning. Even at higher ISOs, the noise levels are impressively low, and the colors are natural and vibrant. The V-Log/V-Gamut profiles are perfect for cinematic projects, and the grading potential is endless. Another feature I love is the black design—it’s sleek and low-profile, which is perfect for documentary work or shooting in public without drawing too much attention. The build quality is solid, yet it’s surprisingly lightweight, making it easy to carry around for extended periods. If I had to nitpick, I’d say the menu system could be a bit more intuitive for beginners, but once you get used to it, the customization options are incredible. Overall, the LUMIX S5IIX is a must-have for hybrid shooters who demand pro-level video features in a compact, affordable package. Whether you’re a filmmaker, content creator, or photographer, this camera is worth every penny!

I upgraded from a Lumix S5 and am enjoying the improved autofocus and other features. I haven't had a chance to use the live-streaming feature yet but I look forward to it. I still believe that the S5 series offers the best value on the market for hybrid shooters. The extra money versus the S5II is well worth it for anyone shooting video. The SSD recording alone is worth the money but when you add unlimited 6K, RAW video out, and wireless streaming, it's a no-brainer. But I will say that I HATE the black-out design. It's extremely difficult to see the buttons, even in broad daylight. I'm going to end up painting mine so I can see them. Comparing this to its competitors, I'd say it beats Canon and competes with Sony. Canon lost me as a customer when they came out with the M-50 "Mark II" which was a minor firmware upgrade. It was insulting not to mention wasteful. And since they've decoupled from third party lens manufacturers, I see no reason to enter that ecosystem unless you're already invested. Sony is a different story. Their autofocus is still a little bit better and their lens selection is the best on the market. However, I can't stand their ergonomics. That combined with better value are why I'm a Panasonic user. Photos included with this review were taken with the Sigma 24-70 DG DN, my workhorse lens.

A filmmaking beast. Everything you need for a very reasonable price. Lightweight and compatible with cannon lens with an adaptor.
