How long can the unit for without being plugged into a power source?

Batteries need to be purchased separately-standard D-cell battery；When running on battery alone, Wi-Fi is disabled and the app is unavailable. Brand-new batteries may last only 3–5 days. When running on battery alone, any feeding schedules set before will still operate, and the device can still dispense food.If both the adapter and batteries are used simultaneously, the device will draw power only from the adapter and will not drain the batteries. When the outlet loses power, it will automatically switch to battery mode.
I'm transitioning our two cats food from a 5/16" oval kibble to a 1/2" cube shaped kibble. Can both size dry kibble be in the feeder together and dispense food without an issue?
