Q: Any features outside of the gradient that makes this worth 3 times the cost of the Lightstrip+ $70? I’m thinking it may just be better to buy three of those and do whatever I wish around the TV.

A: I know one of the features if the 7 color zones. depending on what is showing on the TV, the strip can show 7 different colors at once to match whats is on the screen. This light strip is more for people who have the Philip Hue sync box already.

Q: Can this be used just out of the box, like without the sync box? And it will just connect and show the colors as on the TV? These are so confusing!

A: It will work as a standard lightstrip when connected to only a hue bridge. But if you want the gradation effect synced with your tv you need the sync hue play box which is another 230.00 dollars. You can also use the hue sync pc app if you are using it around a computer monitor. I mean it’s incredible when you have both... but is a 500 dollar investment.

Q: Would the 65 work on a 55? I'm potentially upgrading my TV at some point but not sure when yet.

A: I believe it would. I have a 65 in tv and the 65 gradient strip. There is room around the TV for a larger strip. I would think the 55 tv would be ok with the 65 gradient strip.

Q: I have a 70 inch tv so which length would u recommend the 65 or 75. Also if I wanted to watch normal tv or Netflix will the lights still sync to whatever I’m watching?

A: Hello Nick, These lights don't go all around the TV. I have a 65" TV which I bought the lights for is and I still have around 4 inches on each side to the bottom. My suggestion is to buy the 75" and this way you will have more lighting coverage. Remember, you will need to buy the Hue Sync Box to have full functionality.

Q: can you reuse these on different surfaces or do the clips only stick to one surface?

A: You wouldn't be able to take the clips/guides off and immediately reattach them to something else, you would need to replace the double sided tape which is pretty simple overall if you ever had to move them.

Q: how important is having a white or off-white wall color behind the TV? My walls are a tan/khaki color.

A: That doesn’t matter at all. These lights are awsome and can adapt in any background wall color. Check the pic, my walls are not white.

Q: Can I use the phillips hue gradiant 55" on an 65" TV? Any advice is appreciated

A: i have the 65" gradient strip on my 65" inch TV and it fits really well. i'm thinking if you put the 55" strip on your 65" inch TV it might be a bit short and you may not be please with it since the colors don't go all the way down the sides. the other option would be if using the 55" inch, don't go out to the edge of the TV but rather in more of the back of the TV and it will get more of the sides. just a thought.

Q: I would like use this but i am currently using a samsung tv that is internet compatible and i have just downloaded the apps i use, Hulu, Netflix, and so on. I didnt know if since it is not going through an apple tv or fire tv if it is still compatible

A: This is will not work with the apps on the TV. It has to be through an HDMI input and you have to purchase the Hue Play Sync box to use these lights. Once you connect your Play box, and Hue lights you have and this gradient light strip can be added to the entertainment section in the Hue App. You will have to use the Hue Sync app also for setting up the system. It's not complicated and pretty straight forward. What you will end up with is a extremely great add on to your TV experience.
