Q: Do you have to connect via USB to use Apple Play and Maps?
A: you can do it via USB and also wirelessly if you have the w4500nex or w4400nex. just remember on the initial setup you must pair your phone via bluetooth first then via wifi and make sure you have car play selected in the pioneer receiver settings, after that CarPlay will auto launch everytime you turn on your car.
A: Yes it does you can access apple car with out plugging in
Q: Can this device connect to the back up camera already on my vehicle?
A: I believe it can through the wiring harness there’s a plug that is labeled back up camera.
Q: Anyone know if you can get an aftermarket back up camera installed to work with this?
A: Yes you can. We just did this

Q: How much is it with installation and car kit
A: Hi, I got the AVH4500NEX for $699 and added the 5 yrs warranty. Installation is easy which could be done by yourself. Important thing with the AVH4500NEX unit. If you have steering control buttons will have to get the AXXES Interface which is the best, as is autoprogramable with the car. This AVH unit brings the features of bypassing to watch videos at the same time you are driving (under own risk) with out any wiring, connect ebrake cable to the ground of the radio or the one of the car and you'll be able to use wireless android auto as well. The best feature of it is the wireless screen mirroring with full linked functionality to your phone. The unit is truly worth the $700.
Q: Will this fit a Kia Optima Hybrid 2016? And what does it mean a free installation?
A: Free doesn’t necessarily mean 100% free. The basic install is free if that is the offer, but if custom (whatever that means) is required, then there is extra. Also, don’t be shocked when you get there and find out you need more parts. It’s happened to me more than once.
Q: Can I still use my maps with my phone connected to the GPS?

Wireless Apple CarPlay is Worth It
The connection between its wireless Apple CarPlay and my iPhone 11 is seamless. Songs pick up right where they left off and all CarPlay apps work flawlessly including navigation apps like Waze. Hands free calling and texting work perfect. When wired, YouTube through WebLink works great. The digital radio is superb -you will never go back from digital. The sound for all sources is exceptional. However be careful during set-up. When I first got this unit, it was not as clear as the AVH-3500BHS it replaced. I found it was set to optimize the sound for all 4 occupants and that was muddying up the sound. So I switched that off and it sounds crystal clear. I only have one issue -some faint fan noise (my old unit did not have a fan so I do notice a faint hum when the engine is not running). This does not impact my overall enjoyment with this unit. It is so much better/safer than my old unit because of Apple CarPlay ease of use and the hands free operations and sounds just as good but louder due to the 4V vs 2V RCA preouts. It was a great buy.

Everything about this purchase was amazing!
This radio is super awesome, it plays apple car and android auto, you have to make sure you have a good android phone ,so its compatible with the unit. Android can be a bit tricky but not much. Josue was an expert and very helpful. This radio has everything you need. It's just beautiful, HD radio, detachable face for security, sirious with art work (you need the tuner separately) bluetooth, I can keep on and on, it was worth it. The installation came free with my geek squad membership . It was worth it every penny, thumbs up for Anthony and the super cool amazing guy with the glasses at the installation site, Best buy workers stands by theirs customers, there was a minor issue with the radio i brought it up to them, they understood and they fixed the problem and I am super thankful for that.

Amazing choice
I bought this because I needed a nice screen radio for my Trans Am. I was not aware it had the capability of wireless Carplay and it was a very nice surprise. I've been using Pioneer radios for years and this is probably one of the best I've ever had. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a radio with tons of options.
