AVH-W4400NEX is a wireless, detachable 7” motorized clear resistive DVD Receiver. Your smartphone devices are automatically paired on car start-up to utilize Android™ Auto and Apple CarPlay® applications wirelessly. The touchscreen is customizable by moving icons around to create shortcuts for favorite sources and applications. Video content plays when the car in “park”. However, then on the road, you can entertain your passengers by sending a movie from the receiver to a rear-seat screen. This receiver also has a designated rear-view camera plug-in and a second camera plug-in for their back-up camera. A: Yes it has DVD and CD playback, it also has wireless Carplay and wireless android auto. Just had this installed 2 weeks ago and its awesome, super quick and responsive. Sounds amazing, better then my old Alpine. I paired it with a pair of TS-A series 6 1l2 in the front and TS-A692's in the back and the sound is really crisp and clear, with good bass with just deck power and no sub. I do need to add a sub and amp to really make my system rock, looking for a sale during the xmas and will upgrade then.
Q: Does this unit have the guidelines when using a backup camera ? And if it does are they adjustable?
A: I have this head unit and can confirm it does not have grid lines. Stupid that they took it off but hopefully a firmware update in the near future will fix it
Q: WIll this work on a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited?
A: Yes it will, it will work in a JKU, you take out the metal bracket and carefully shave off about an 8th of in off the plastic trim inside of the dash. Not the dash face you take off but underneath where no one see unless they take your dash apart.
Q: Is there a way to turn off the screen while the radio is playing like you can on the 4201 nex?
A: Yes. You press and hold the physical back button for a few seconds.
