Yes it has DVD and CD playback, it also has wireless Carplay and wireless android auto. Just had this installed 2 weeks ago and its awesome, super quick and responsive. Sounds amazing, better then my old Alpine. I paired it with a pair of TS-A series 6 1l2 in the front and TS-A692's in the back and the sound is really crisp and clear, with good bass with just deck power and no sub. I do need to add a sub and amp to really make my system rock, looking for a sale during the xmas and will upgrade then.

I believe this has a motorized face that pops out when you want to insert (or eject) a CD. If you search online for videos of this model (AVH-W4400NEX), that's what you'll see.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it does. I'm at the store and just pressed the little button on the bottom right, then the Eject button on the screen. The face opened up revealing the slots for SD card and DVD/CD. Can even remove the face to safely secure it at your home.
