Enjoy immersive, dynamic audio with this Polk Audio VT60 in-ceiling speaker, which features a 6.5" Dynamic Balance polypropylene cone and a 0.75" swivel-mount, aimable silk-dome tweeter for clear low, high and midrange tones.
A: I installed in a acoustical drop ceiling. They only weigh 3lbs
Q: Would this be a good option for a center channel speaker over a wall mounted television?
A: In my opinion, No. You would be much better off choosing a speaker with an aimable woofer if it is to be used as a left, center, right (L/C/R) speaker. This speaker has an adjustable tweeter only. An aimable woofer will you give you the best experience in a surround configuration because your front 3 speakers are the most important. I hope this helps!
Q: How do you mount speakers in the ceiling? What hardware comes with speaker?
A: You cut the circle and there are clamps that come out as you run the screws up and the clamp the drywall. You still have to get speaker wire to them
Q: Would the speaker's sound match up well with other brands?
A: I recommend you to look up directly on Polk site with the part number, if they are timbre matched. Usually all Polk released a couple years apart, do sound similar with the same volume setting. If your receiver has a audio level setting mic, then they auto adjust individual channel levels to sound appropriate. If you are using these for surround application, you will hardly notice any difference. If you are using them as your main Front L, C & R speakers, there could be differences in the mid's and high's in the sense that they may sound a little muffled or not sharp enough, when you mix & match different speaker models.
Q: Does this speaker require an additional mounting bracket or is everything included to mount it?
A: The mounting brackets are built into the speaker.
Q: Can this speaker be mounted in the wall instead of the ceiling?
A: Although I mounted them in my ceiling, they should be able to mount in the wall just fine. There are four clamps that attach the speaker to the drywall.
Q: Does this model require a 2 or 4 wire connection
A: I used a 2 wire cable.
Q: What size hole cutout is required for Polk Audio - 6.5" 2-Way In-Ceiling Speaker?
A: Hello, the cutout measurements for the Polk Audio VT60 are 8 3-16 inches in diameter and 3 3/4 inches in depth.
