Poppe's composition Fett for orchestra dates from 2018/19 and was commissioned by the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association and it's artistic director Gustavo Dudamel, and Inchmusica vivaInch. Enno Poppe is one of the most important younger representatives of New Music. His composition I cannot remember anything for chorus, organ and orchestra, based on words by Marcel Beyer, was written between 2005 and 2015 as a commission for Bayerischer Rundfunk's Inchmusica vivaInch. The first performance in Germany was recorded on May 8, 2015 in the Herkulessaal of the Munich Residenz. The album edition of the Inchmusica vivaInch series, founded in June 2000 to document the concert series that has existed since 1945, contains selected live recordings of Inchmusica vivaInch concerts. An integral part of the edition is made up of concerts by the ensembles of the Bayerischer Rundfunk, guest recordings by international orchestras and ensembles, and also historical recordings. With two or three new releases per year, the main focus of the edition -which sees itself primarily as a series for composers -is mainly on portrait albums.

Enno Poppe approaches electroacoustic music with an attitude that could be called Inchsympathetic skepticism.Inch Although he has been involved since his student days with programming and a wide variety of electroacoustic techniques and instruments (also in his role as a conductor), not one of his compositions until now has been InchpurelyInch electronic. In InchRundfunk for nine synthesizersInch Enno Poppe uses historical sounds - not historical instruments; the instrumentation consists of nine Computers and nine keyboards. The sounds come from the l960s and 70s FM synthesis, Minimoog and Piganino. Because no original instruments are used, only computer-generated reconstructions, everything sounds different from the way it did then. The sound is deconstructed and reassembled. The players are not keyboard virtuosos, but rather virtuosos in the use of electronic sounds. Enno Poppe's InchRundfunkInch celebrates musicians and the act of performing, and thus could be called Inchpost-digitalInch music. It returns human physicality to electronic music in the bodies of those performing it.
