Prez / Dulces Exuviae / Zuljan - Adieu Mes Amours - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Music is seldom unadulterated. The aesthetic process - both of composition and of perception - is almost always influenced by extra-musical phenomena. Historical, physical, and ethnological forces have Inchgotten in the wayInch of the compositions on this album, determining the values between the sounds, the crossings into those musical realms where hearing becomes, in the best sense of the word, unclear. In Vassos Nicolaou's ensemble piece InchFarbenmaschinenInch structurally completely different tonal layers continuously interact with each other, whereas Johannes Schoellhorn's InchPieces croiseesInch is like a musical shell game of memories. Sound and notated noise collide in Gerard Grisey's InchPartielsInch, and Dieter Mack's InchKammermusik VInch points to intercultural communication problems and even speechlessness. Richter, one of the most important living German artists, has been a member of the board of trustees of the Ensemble Musikfabrik since 2009.

Josquin Desprez, princeps musicorum, the prince of musicians, as his contemporaries called him, is best known today for his sacred works, the masses and motets, which have been widely performed and recorded. Surprisingly, his chansons have received little attention from performers, except for the pieces for five and six voices, printed after his death by the Antwerp Tilman Susato in his seventh book of 1545. Doulce Mémoire has chosen to focus on the chansons for three and four voices, which are probably the earliest in the Hainault master's output; with their diversity of language and themes (sometimes folk-derived), these songs constitute a varied program that is at once serious and bawdy, a testament to the unequalled art of Josquin Desprez.

Vinyl LP pressing. 2016 . After almost three years of silence, Netherbird return with their strongest album to date. Filled to the brim with their signature style of songwriting, which incorporates black, death and even doom metal, this record is a new monument of harsh yet melodic music craft. They keep true to their origins also lyric-wise as Nephente keeps weaving his dark and personal reflections upon the world into the songs. This album is a journey spanning seven songs, and you are now invited to join the descent into uncharted territories. Onwards!
